Behold the Boy
Behold the boy
Of unfettered grace
To gaze upon
His rueful face
Must pay you this penance
To never embrace
This sweet juvenescence
About to unfold
A most bittersweet paragon
For I'm too old
As soft a soul
One could behold
All spry and doleful
As a summer's dawn
Yet awkward and tender
Like the newfledged fawn

Said the gaffer
To the dame,
"Heavens my Lady! Have you no shame?
Ah, the heavens
And angels do tease
So stout and eager
And ready to please
My tie-dyed love
Denim beauty
From this day on
I'll consider it my duty
To behold you at
At distant range
But to succumb
To your charms
I must refrain
