My leg fractured due to the severe osteoporosis that I have. So, as I was sitting on the grass at the park while my family picked blackberries, God brought to my mind the picture of the Good Shepherd.

I remember reading that if a shepherd has a lamb that is persistent in wandering away from the shepherd and the flock that the shepherd will break one of the lamb's legs, bind it up and then carry the lamb until it heals.

During the time that the lamb is carried and tended to by the Shepherd, the lamb learns to trust, love and obey the shepherd. A close bond is formed. When the lamb is again turned out to join the flock, it no longer wanders but stays close to the shepherd.

For some reason, this picture just gave me such a sense of peace and security. I feel like that lamb that has it's leg broken and my Good Shepherd has been carrying me. This adversity has brought me closer to the Shepherd and there is such peace in knowing that it is for my good that I would stay close to Him and not wander from Him.

Isaiah 40:11
"He tends his flock like a shepherd: He gathers the lambs in his arms and carries them close to his heart; he gently leads those that have young."
