Rule Description
How to sign up? Find me (Zeek) on Netfrag and tell me you want to participate in the league. I should be in the channel #pugleague (this league's channel) #LTK (my clan's channel) or #unitedheatclans (my guild's channel).
How do I become a Team Captain? Once the "sign up period" is over. I will decide how many teams there will be and then ask for that many captains. You can volunteer and then if you are chosen, well you'll be a captain.
How will the teams be selected? After the number of teams has been determined and each team has a captain, a draft will be held and each captain will take turns picking people until everyone is picked.
What will the draft order be? There will be four teams and 31 picks. Here are each team's numbers:
Team 1: Pick #1, Pick #7, Pick #12, Pick #15, Pick #20, Pick #22, Pick #26, Pick #29
Team 2: Pick #2, Pick #6, Pick #9, Pick #16, Pick #19, Pick #23, Pick #25
Team 3: Pick #3, Pick #5, Pick #10, Pick #13, Pick #18, Pick #24, Pick #28, Pick #31
Team 4: Pick #4, Pick #8, Pick #11, Pick #14, Pick #17, Pick #21, Pick #27, Pick #30
When are the war played? There will be two wars per week. Each team will be able to schedule their own war times. You will have 2 scheduled opponent and 2 scheduled maps to play (for example vs Team 1 on 2fort5 and vs Team 2 on Well6), but it is up to the teams to decide what day/time to play. Each week's wars must be completed by Sunday at 11:00 EST. I will post next week's schedule by Monday night.
What are the rules for the wars? Wars will be between 5v5 and 9v9 depending on how many people from each team show up. The more that come the bigger the war. If one team has more than another then play with as many people from the other team as possible (for example if Team 1 has 6 and Team 2 has 8 then play 6v6). Wars will be 33 minutes (30 minutes of fighting and 3 minutes of prematch). If, for any reason, you cannot get prematch to work then just have everyone stay in their own base until 3 minutes is up and then go. There is 1 "round" and whoever has the most caps wins. If the score is tied after the timelimit and the server ends then set up again with a 3 minute prematch and then the next cap wins. If the server does not end then keep playing with the same rule: next cap wins.
What about cheating? Quake is pretty old. I don't think anyone "new" has come into TF that hasn't been playing it for a while, so everyone should know by now what is cheating and what isn't. If you think someone is cheating let me know, send a demo or whatever, and if they are then I'll simply kick them out of the league. There's really no point in cheating here, the league is just for fun, there's no prizes, clan's bragging rights aren't even on the line. If you're not sure whether or not something is considered cheating... then it probably is.
Are rosters final after the draft? Nope. Leaders have the option of trading people that they drafted. For whatever reason at all, maybe you have too many guys that play neer and need a demoman... etc etc. I'll try to think of other ways to have roster changes so that people get to play with a variety of people and it doesn't feel like you're in another clan, but right now trading is all I can think of.
What maps will be used? I'll take common maps that are on a lot of servers. The kind of maps STA and WW use plus I might throw in some crazy match ups that will take place in 4fort5 or some "weird" map between 4 clans like a 4v4v4v4 instead of 8v8. We'll see, I'll try to keep it interesting. :) If you want to recommend a map to be played let me know. The league will open with the maps 2fort5 and spit2.
Can a team use ringers? No! If a team uses ringers from another team in the tourney they will forfeit their match and the person who was the ringer will get kicked out of the tournament. If it is a ringer who is not in the tournament then the team that used him will forfeit and the leader could possibly be removed for bringing in outsiders. There's no point why this should happen, especially the outsiders. The tournament is open for everyone to sign up, even if you miss the initial draft, you can still sign up late and get on a team.
I missed the sign up and the league already started! How can I get in on this? You will have to wait until as many new people sign up as there are teams and then each team will get to pick a new member. Example: if there are 4 teams in the league, as soon as 4 new people want to join, then each team will draft one of the new people. Draft will be a random order for this so each time this happens different teams will get different picks in order to keep it fair. If the rosters for all teams become too big then there will be an expansion draft and a new team will be created and take 1-3 players from the exsisting teams. I'll try to keep the team sizes around 10-12 people.
