Newfoundland
There are no words I can use to explain the majestic rugged beauty of my home.
My home is backed by mountains, and fronted, as always on this Island, by the sea. Newfoundlanders will tell you that to be away from the sea is a desolate feeling, the sight, the sounds & the smell of the sea is a living enity, it is a part of our soul.
Newfoundlanders are different, a mix of Norse, Irish & English, we speak with a distinctive accent, and have a language & dialect, like no other.
Newfoundland has no snakes, no skunks, no tornadoes, and with a moderate climate, is a virtual paradise.
We have our own distinctive music, a blend of Irish & Nfld. We don't have a party,we have a time, there's always the guitars, accordians, the Ulian pipes, the fiddles, whistles & the flutes.
Newfoundlands, no matter where they now live, always call this Island home. There's an inxplicable bond that that ties Newfoundlanders to this Island & to each other.
