Special Characters
Fuegan, the Burning Lance

Pros: Fire Axe, Fast Shot with a Firepike.
Cons: Like all Fire Dragons, Fuegan has limited range.
Comments: As with all Phoenix Lords, add them to their respective squads and make them fearless.
Maugan Ra, the Harvester of Souls

Pros: cheapest Phoenix Lord, strength 7 in close combat, power weapon.
Cons: Giving him an executioner with strength 7 and a shuriken cannon seems contradictory.
Comments: Either use him in CC where he will massacre much more than his share of points, or as a firebase with his accompanying Dark Reaper squad.
Barroth, Cry of the Wind

Pros: Sustained Assault with a power weapon, Deep Strike.
Cons: Few, if any. makes up for everything that normal Hawks lack.
Comments: A 10-man Swooping Hawk Squad lead by Barroth will make mince-meat out of most any squad. Use the grenade packs well, you only get once shot!
Asurmen, the Hand of Asuryan

Pros: Invulnerable save, re-rolls misses with his Diresword.
Cons: Twin linked shuriken catapults.
Comments: Add him to a Dire Avenger squad to give them CC assistance.
Karandras, the Shadow Hunter

Pros: Surprise Assault, S5 Mandiblaster, Stealth.
Cons: Most expensive Phoenix Lord, Scorpion's Claw makes him go last.
Comments: Join him up with a CC squad and use the Stealth ability to infiltrate. Banshees, Scorpions or even a huge 20-man squad of Storm Guardians.
Jain Zar, the Storm of Silence

Pros: Strength 6, power weapon.
Cons: warrior powers arent THAT great.
Comments: Take the effectiveness of a Banshee exarch and multiply it by 2. This is a great addition to a Banshee squad... add her to a squad of 9 and stick them in a Wave Serpent.
Eldrad Ulthran, Farseer of Ulthwe

Pros: Staff of Ulthamar, 3+ Rune save, all the psychic goodness.
Cons: Very expensive, you must pay for things you normally wouldn't use (Runes of Warding, Eldritch Storm).
Comments: A great model, and awesome rules. Too bad he cant be in the Seer Council...
Iyanna Arienal, Spiritseer of Iyanden

Pros: 2 wounds, Spear of Teuthlas, Armour of Vaul.
Cons: Only for Iyanden, no model available.
Comments: Getting 2 warlock powers is good, that armour save is weird...
Nuadhu "Fireheart", Wild Rider of Saim Hann

Pros: Mounted on a Vyper with upgraded armour, ignores Crew Stunned and Crew Shaken resluts.
Cons: Being an open-topped skimmer, it might not last long.
Comments: Add him to a big squad of Jetbikes and do hit-and-run attacks on large, poorly armoured squads.
