Esta es una "pregunta" que le he hecho a Google varias veces a lo largo del tiempo. En su momento lo descubrí y creo que ha llegado la hora de desvelárselo al mundo :P

Primero, ¿por qué esa obsesión? Pues porque FIFA 2000, y el 99, eran de los mejores de toda la saga del FIFA, además de que no son una mala conversión de la consola al PC, y yo me divertía bastante con ellos. El que los haya jugado sabrá por qué. La pena es que ahora está un tanto desactualizado, pero sigue siendo entretenido.

¿Cual era el problema de ejecutar FIFA 2000 (de EA Sports) en Windows 2000?, pues que instalarse, se instalaba, aunque hiciera falta tirar del modo compatibilidad con Windows 98, pero a la hora de intentar ejecutar el juego, ni compatibilidad, ni nada de nada, daba error y no se pasaba de ahí.

Y la solución es la más tonta y simple posible y a la vez la más tocapelotas, porque, el juego en realidad no falla, va de puta madre, el problema de que de un error al ejecutarse es por la protección anticopias. Sí, sí, como leéis, lo que provoca el error en Windows 2000 no es nada más, y nada menos, que la protección SafeDisc que lleva este juego para que no lo piratees.

Así que, para arreglar el desaguisado, lo único que hay que hacer, es bajarse el programa unsafedisc 1.5.5 (la versión que yo usé, aunque hay más nuevas) y poner, en un mismo directorio, el ejecutable del juego, es decir, fifa2000.exe, y las protecciones, fifa2000.icd y dplayerx.dll y listos. Ejecutamos el unsafedisc, buscamos la carpeta donde pusimos esos tres archivos y le damos a "Decrypt game" y ya tenemos nuestro propio ejecutable fifa2000.exe parcheado para ser ejecutado en nuestro flamante Windows 2000 (win2k para los amigos). Eso sí, antes de sobreescribir el fifa2000.exe, recomiendo hacer una copia de seguridad, por si acaso no funcionase. El unsafedisc no es un parcheador para no pedir el CD, así que lo tendremos que tener metido en el lector para poder ejecutar el juego.

Yes, yes, you read that, what causes the crash in Windows 2000 it's the SafeDisc protection of this game that is to avoid you for copying the game.

So, to fix this, the only thing to do it's download unsafedisc 1.5.5 (the version I used, even exists newer) and put, in the same folder, the exe of the game, that is, fifa2000.exe, and the protection files, fifa2000.icd and dplayerx.dll and done. We run unsafedisc, we search for the folder were we have the three files and we click on "Decrypt game" and we have our own fifa2000.exe executable fixed and ready to be executed in our great Windows 2000 (win2k for the friends). But, before overwrite the original fifa2000.exe, make a backup, only if for any reason this doesn't work. Unsafedisc it's not a nocd program, so you still need the CD of the game in your CD/DVD drive to run the game.
