There was once a restaurant called Frankie Doodles and it rested in the heart of Spokane, Washington......well, it still does, but it just sounds better like that. A fine young bunch of people decided to drop by there one late Autumn evening, I'm not sure exactly when, I wasn't among them...but that's not important - back to the story! While shuffling through the menu, many of them stopped at the most important page (in the mind of a teenager and probably anyone else), the dessert page. The fine eating establishment of Frankie Doodles had many a fine dessert dish. There were your basic sundaes, milk shakes, regular scoop(s) of various sorts of ice cream, banana splits, even a "Strawberry Fields" delicacy (I don't really remember what it was). The most evident of all the desserts was perched on top of all the other dishes consecutively. Aghast, the students could not believe their eyes, but there it was - the illusive "Fudge Ana." Unbelieving, they continued on to read the blurb describing this dessert - "This exciting and tantalizing delicacy of hot, gooey fudge smothered over fresh banana spears firmly planted in lucscious, plentiful scoops of vanilla ice cream will be sure to satisfy you!" This is not word-for-word, mind you, but I'm sure my description is less suggestive than the original. Seeing this and enjoying it immensely, the jovial group of kids vowed to come back and taste this mysterious "Fudge Ana" when a special occasion arose. Finally, in late February, we embarked on our venture. Celebrating Stacey Boyer's birthday (it had been several months previous, but oh well), we visited Frankie Doodles once more. I was thrilled to be among them and very honored to share in the "Fudge Ana" festivities. Cam and I shared a "Fudge Ana"...hence the "Can I probe your Fudge Ana?" jokes arose...and there were many more, believe me. I could tell he enjoyed the dessert, I thought it a bit much (it was a MOUTHFUL, huh, Cam?). Anyway, after eating our fill, we left the restaurant (but not before getting our picture taken in front of the white deer) and headed to the mall, where we embarked on a scavenger hunt....but that's another story.
