08/13/02 - The Tide is no longer. Coffey did not even wait until the deadline to make his decision known. The offices have already been cleared out and are vacant. According to one fan,the checks to refund money to those who pre-ordered season tickets are already in the mail. I'm not sure what this site will now turn in to. For a while at least,it will become an archive for the news stories about the ACHL; I probably wont update the news anymore. I am refusing to support this league now. I might turn this into a site for one of my other (many =p ) favorite teams,so I'd suggest copying any news articles you want before I change stuff around. The page will be saved on my hard drive though in case you dont get the chance.
08/12/02 - Well,looks like Tallahassee might not get a team after all. For those of you who either do not read the local paper or follow the making of this team: apparently,the director of the civic center and the owner of the Tide have decided to act like children and blast each other in the paper. Supposedly, Coffey (owner) has still not signed the lease,and Spencer (director) will not release a list of available dates. There is a deadline of 5pm Wednesday that Coffey must have the lease signed by. I don't know about anyone else,but if Tallahassee doesn't have a team this year, I expect at least a couple lawsuits.
