| Not much information is released on Lauren Weedman, one of the newest correspondents. She was raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She studied theatre in Chicago at The Depaul Theatre School and the Goodman School of Drama. Soon after she moved to Amsterdam to learn Dutch and be a part of bizarre European theatre. Five years later, Lauren moved back to The States in Seattle Washington to write for as well as be a part of the cast for the local comedy show, Almost Live, which ran from 1984-1999 and was a skit comedy and stand-up show. Skits tended to focus on social issues, such as "The Worst Girlfriend in the World" and it's cast also included Bill Nye the Science Guy! While in Washington, Lauren wrote and performed in four solo shows : Homecoming, If Ornaments Had Lips, Amsterdam, and They Got His Mouth Right. The Daily Show became interested in adding Lauren to the team after seeing her perform They Got His Mouth Right at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City. Currently you can catch Lauren on National Public Radio's Rewind, and she's be appearing in her solo show Homecoming Off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre in fall 2002. The only information relesed about Lauren'd family is that she lives in the West Village with her husband Michael. |
