Rule Book as of 10-23-02

I.                  Team Rosters

1.     Each team must consist of at least 5 total players this is including at least one goalie

2.     During the season if a new player enters the league that player will be drafted to the teams that want a new player and who need him in other words a captain who wants a player but has already a good team wont get the player if a captain with a team with a lower record wants that player

3.     A team may either drop or pick up players from or to free agency whenever they please to however they cannot go under the minimum of 5 players

II.               Games

1.     Each game will have 3 periods each period will be 10 minutes in length this cannot be voided

2.     After the period there is a 3 minute intermission however this may be voided if voted upon the home team

3.     Most games will have a ref.  If there is no ref present for the game both teams have the choice of either postponing the game or playing without a referee

4.     If the game is tied at the end of the game that will be the final score this is no overtime

5.     At the beginning of the game the home team has the choice of which side they will start on

6.     The ball must be dropped or a three tap stick method used for face-offs only no other methods are allowed

III.           Equipment

1.     For games two sets of legs pads will be available, the home team decides upon the set of leg pads they want, however the glove, blocker, chest protector and helmet are to be used by the owner’s team; other teams may let other teams use their top half equipment, goaltenders may play on feet if they chose

2.      For players a stick is to be used and skates are a must there is no voiding this rule players must play on roller blades

IV.            Off-Roster Players

1.     During the season some teams might not have all there players show up, if the CAPTAIN is there the games will be still played if he has at least 2 players if not the game will be postponed or a forfeit loss will be issued to that team, that is to be voted upon by the captains of both teams

2.     If in-fact the team is short players and is still over the limit so they can still play (in other words if they have at least 2 players including there captain) they can still play by using off-roster players (or other)

3.     If both teams are missing players the team that has the less points in the season will choose first

4.     Players that are picked by captains will have no say in what team they play for; however, if the player is picked the player or goaltender will have the choice whether or not their stats will count

5.     If a player completely refuses to play for the team they have been picked from they will be suspended for at least one game

a.     If this situation occurs you must as a captain report to one of the 3 league presidents Kyle Domitrovits, James Pierson, or Cody Ruff

b.     Consequences will follow for that player

V.               Referee’s

1.     Referee’s are in games to make the game safe and fun, if a player is acting unsportsmanlylike a penalty will be drawn upon that player, however if there is no ref the captains will vote on whether or not to postpone the game until a legible ref is available, technically Lacroix is not a CNRHL referee the registrated refs are Kyle Domitrovits, Cody Ruff, James Pierson, and Sean Windfelder

2.     Refs are to call penalties, stop clock, keep time, do stat-keeping (unless there is a separate person(s) present to keep statistics), and decide goals

3.     Penalties

a.     Roughing 2:00

b.     Tripping 2:00

c.     Hooking 2:00

d.     Fighting 5:00

e.     Unsportsmanlike Misconduct 5:00

f.       Interference with player or goaltender 2:00

g.     Slashing 2:00

h.     Checking from Behind 5:00

i.       Cursing which is an unsportsmanlike call 5:00

j.       Shooting puck after play 2:00

k.    Arguing with the ref for any situation 2:00 (only captain may argue call)

l.       Illegal curve on stick over 2 inches 2:00

m.  To many man on macadam 2:00 served by captain’s choice

n.     Delay of Game 2:00

4.     Stops of Play

a.     Goaltender freezes puck for a period of time and asks for a face-off

b.     Puck is cleared out of play by player

c.     Cherry-picking

d.     Goal is scored

e.     Clock isn’t started (if scores in this period goal will not count, any argument will result in 2:00 arguementing call)

VI.            Play-offs

1.     Before play-offs all players that played in the regular season for at least 3 games must pay 5 dollars which will be donated to the winning team at the end of the play-offs

2.     The play-offs will match up as 1st place team vs 4th place team over season stats and 2nd place team vs 3rd place team if there is a tie in placings head-head stats will be viewed

3.     There will be a best of 3 Play-off setup

4.     At the end of the play-offs all of the money that was payed before the play-offs will go to the winning team to split evenly amongst their entire roster 

VII.        All-Star Break

1.     Each team will give at least 2 players to the all-stars

2.     The top 2 goales voted among the league save % will be a major consideration and so will shut-outs, records, and GAA, plus gp but Save % will be the most considerated stat for goaltenders

3.     The league presidents will vote which players from each team will make the all-star game, but a definite 2 will make it from each team not including goaltenders and goaltenders may be from the same team if this situation occurs
