Alberta Junior Hockey League Pucks

The AJHL was formed in 1963 with the intention of becoming a top Junior league to rival leagues such as the SJHL and MJHL in the west. Alberta did have one of the strongest junior teams in the country in the Edmonton Oil Kings who were playing out of an Alberta Senior/Intermediate league. Unfortunately, the AJHL did not bring in the Oil Kings. The league never gained the prominence it sought.

The league did compete for the Memorial Cup until the creation of the Tier II Jr 'A' level. The league has since become a top Tier II league.
