The Landor Theatre is a great place to catch a top quality musical with an excellent cast and musicians in an intimate and fun venue.  If you see a musical directed by Linda Edwards or Robert McWhir at the Landor, run to get your seats.

Description:

The Landor was founded in 1995 by Linda Edwards the artistic director. It has focused primarily on doing musicals in an intimate environment. It is been viewed as one of the top pub theatre's in London.  Recent productions of "Little Shop of Horrors" and "Torch Song Trilogy" has been very successful.

Significant musical productions have included "Under the Kitchen Sink", "Into the Woods", "City of Angels", "Children of Eden", "Assassins" and "Little Shop of Horrors". A recent production of "Torch Song Trilogy was also quite successful. Productions at the Landor have resulted in many actors, singers and dancers moving on to bigger productions or getting agents.

The theatre is located upstairs (with a small box office at the foot of the stairs at the back of the pub. As Linda Edwards describes it the theatre is "a room with a fireplace" (there is a fireplace in one wall of the theatre). However the space works well it is a long thing space allowing lots of playing space for the actors and a few rows of seats. This makes the space very intimate.

The Landor Pub is a busy and friendly place and had developed a great relationship with the theatre. The pub was redone in 1998 and renamed for the Landor Theatre. It is a great place to grab a drink before or after the show.

The Landor has recently created their own web site which can be found at www.landortheatre.co.uk.

The Landor Theatre is available for rental when it isn't producing on its own. Rental rates as of October 2001 are £400 per week plus a 30% split of the box office.
