INCHICORE
Horse and Jockey

Located just 2 minutes from the ground, the spacious Jockey is well-lit and offers an avergly priced pint. It is the pub where most Rovers fans go before and after the game for a pre/most match pint. There is a dart board, and Juke box for the enthuastits, and plenty of seating and standing room. It only has one entrance so can become congested and there is no lounge, just a large bar-type room. The actual drink itself to be honest is not the best, but drinkable, it is serves by some dodgy looking males, I mean females. They serve cans behind the bar which is a plus, Royal, Double, Gold, Strongbow, all of the greats. They serve sandwiches which is also a nice little touch. The best of a poor bunch in Inchicore. Colours and singing permitted. Bar-staff friendly too.

McDowells

The closest of the pubs to the Ground which is more akin to Pats fans than Rovers. TO be honest this pub is a total fucking kip, seats ripped, tiolets poorly located, full of St.Pats paraphenalia and I find you do be waiting ages to get a pint. The pub does serve a decent enough pint for a fair price. The atmosphere can be decent enough, and the staff (what few of them are) well I cannot really comment as the place is such a dive I find myself looking for more faults in the place

At first 'light' of this pub, it appeats that it might be a nice experience, as it is the first pub that you come across upon entry to Emmet Road. When you enter the pub, the first thing you notice is the lack of light, which is akin to Richmond Park. On first impression it appears to be a oul-fellas pub, very smokey and again I stress it is dimly lit. The toilet is located out the back of the pub, the filthy floors (yes I know most pubs do not have immaculately clean floors, but this place has alot to be desired. You could hear a pin drop apart from the odd mutter of the oulfellas, but I must say they do a nice pint of Guiness, as you would expect from most oul-fellas pubs. The price was lower than that of the other pubs in Inchicore, which was a plus, and the fact that they do also sell cans behind the bar. I find this place too drab for going for a pre-match pint and some banter with any type of football fans. It is not a place to visit.
