Memphis City Schools--Strategies for Improvement

 

The Panel members will describe how changes are and will be made in the 26 state identified schools in order to raise student achievement. In addition, the Richland Elementary School Principal will describe their initiative to improve parent involvement which received the top award in the state for the most outstanding Parental Involvement Program.

 

The Panelists will include:

 

Mr. Bob Archer--Associate Superindant of School Administration and Student Support, Memphis City Schools

Dr. Steven Ross--Senior Researcher, Center of Research in Educational Policy, University of Memphis

Dr. Freda Williams--Coordinator of School Initiatives, Memphsi City Schools

Mr. Kevin McCarthy--Principal of Richland Elelmentary School, Memphis City Schools

Facilitator: Connie Ross, Managing Attorney and Supervisor of the Civil Litigation Clinic of the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law
