APRIL 8, 2008

Connecticut said goodbye to Public Access with a disgusting, sweaty, surging throng of humanity like none we’ve ever seen before. Due to the various logistical issues we seem to encounter on every roadtrip, we arrived roughly 3 hours late to the show crammed into Chris’ Mazda 3. We essentially hopped out of the car, made our way through the massive crowd that had gathered in the parking lot because they literally couldn’t fit any more people into the hall, plugged into the Tsunamis’ shit and played our little set. Everything in the room was steaming and moist from the mass of people crammed inside, including all our instruments (if you were there, you know what I’m talking about- Derek described it as “trying to play drums with two hotdogs”, or, in Chris’ eloquent terminology, “walking into a giant asshole”.) What we definitely lacked in precision was made up for by the most ridiculous crowd reaction I may have ever witnessed. Connecticut has always been pretty good for us, but this was over-the-top. There were times throughout the set when I could no longer hear Chris or Matt singing over the sound of a hundred mustachio’d kids screaming every word.  Crowdsurfing left and right. Headwalking, even- a practice I thought died out in the late ‘90s. Not in Connecticut, my friends. Not in Connecticut. Thank you, New England, for your enthusiasm. I won’t forget it anytime soon. We followed the show up with absolutely triumphant feast at the Wallingford Chili’s, paid for entirely with our gas money from the show- perhaps the first time any of us have ever enjoyed our band funds for anything other than gas or merch or recording time or saxophone reeds… We all realized then that even though it took us seven years, we fucking made it.

We move onward this weekend to our final shows, ever, in our adopted hometown of Syracuse and our actual hometown of Albany. It’s almost impossible to describe how it feels to stare down the end of an era, but we’re all excited to throw down a few more times with some of our best friends and some of the best bands in the world. It will be one hell of a weekend, and we hope to see you all there.

Back to business! Greg at Community Records is opening up a limited record/CD pre-order beginning Thursday, April 10th. Anyone who can’t make the final shows can order their very own copy of “Hindsight” on their choice of obsolete musical format at extremely reasonable prices- however, keep in mind that QUANTITIES ARE VERY LIMITED! Get on that shit and get on it early, or you just might get shut out. Any copies leftover from our

farewell shows will be put up for order through our Myspace starting April 13th, but don’t count on it. WWW.COMMUNITYRECORDS.ORG, people.

The end is nigh!
