| Stan Gustafson was born on December 19, 1903 in Sycamore, Illinois. He was a tall, ruddy, red-haired man. He eventually left Port Wing to work in Chicago. One of the places that he worked was for the Hellman Blue Ribbon Company. Stan would bring jars of sandwich spread from the Hellman factory when he would visit back to Port Wing. Emogene remembered the Hellman's as being a special treat on the homemade bread from the farm. Stan would visit every summer when he was on vacation. Stan and Laura were married on June 26, 1926 in Chicago, Illinois. |
