IC-406 BIOMEDICAL INSTRUMENTATION (B.Tech 8th Semester, 2063) Time : 3 Hours Maximum Marks : 60 NOTE:- This paper consist of Three Sections. Section A is compulsory. Do any Four questions from Section B and any two questions from Section C Section-A Marks : 20 1(a) What material is normally employed in biomedical electrodes and why ? (b) Where is the ground on an operational amplifier ? (c) Explain input guarding with reference to bioelectric amplifiers. (d) List the indirect methods of blood pressure measurement. (e) Name the two muscles involved in the breathing. (f) Define lung compliance. (g) Explain advantages of vector cardiography over ECG. (h) Name the different records of 12 lead ECG. (i) List the components of an EMG machine. (j) List two applications of Ultrasound in Biomedical Engineering. Section-B Marks:5 Each 2. What is application of pH analyser in biomeidcal engineering ? Explain its working. 3. Explain a method of respiration rate measurement. 4. Explain the working of ECG machine along with its block diagram. 5. Explain any one technique for blood flow measurement. 6. List different temperature transducers and explain two applications in the field of Biomedical Engineering. Section-C Marks : 10 Each 7. Explain the working of a multi-channel EEG recording machine (include block diagram). Explain the application of EEG in medical field. 8. Write short notes on : (a) Application of X-Ray in Biomedical Engineering (b) Phonocardiolography. 9. Write notes on application of Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Computer Tomography in the biomedical instrumentation. |
