Reptiles that will SHOCK you!!
Let me introduce myself:
I was raised in Highland Utah about a half hour south of Salt Lake City and a half hour north of Provo. My parents owned a small farm where we raised sheep and a whole host of other barn-yard animals. My parents were very tolerant of my profound interest in animals and supported me whole heartedly in all aspects of animal keeping except snakes. I used to bring home buckets of garter snakes to show my parents, but they always made me release them out away from the house. I was able to keep birds, fish, lizzards, and raise tadpoles. I never felt the least bit hindered by my parents dislike for serpents until I was older. At the age of eighteen I expressed to my parents my interest in buying a boa constrictor, my dad rebutted with,"That thing will eat the cats!". He never even liked the cats even though he was probably right. So I imagined the day when in my own house I would be able to keep snakes.
Six years later while attending Brigham Young University I met my wife. While dating she mentioned that as a child she kept toads. She would always go out to the barn in order to catch flys for them. I knew she was the girl for me...I had found my soul mate. While we were engaged I started talking snakes with her and soon I purchased my first snake which she kept in her appartment. After we were marrried our collection began to grow into what it is today. We've been married five years now and both have degrees in animal science. I must pay tribute to my wife for she really loves the snakes. Alright, I admit she probably loves me and tolerates the snakes. It must be love or she wouldn't dig through all those frozen rodents to get to the peas, right? Well I love her and thank her for her support.
We are a small operation managed by myself and my wife. We've kept snakes for many years and now are in our second year of breeding. Witnessing the sucessful breeding of the snakes that we have raised is very rewarding. These animals are our pets and we use them in educational reptile shows and parties. The only animals we sell are those produced by us at our facility unless otherwise specified. Reptile breeding is only a hobby for me as it helps to keep me sane after a long day of studying. I am always happy to share any knowledge or information that I have. Reptiles have always been a big part of my life and I hope that together we can learn more about these amazing animals that share our planet.
