| Some minor changes, but nothing Earth-shattering for this season. |
| Greetings Owners, Welcome to Season Nine of the PTFFL. We are definitely in maintenance mode around here. Our first season with new owners since the 2000 season has gone off very well, with Andre's Los Angeles Excelsiors making it to within one game of the Fajita Bowl. In addition, we saw Chad's Nashville Dark Knights make a stirring run from a 2-6 start to run the table and snare the franchise's first PTFFL championship! The competition didn't get worse with new owners, it actually got a heckuva lot tougher! For the 2006 season we are looking at one minor change: Reinstating the franchise fees. The amount I am looking at is $25 for this season, a good chunk of which will pay for the website (this has come out of my pocket the past two years). The rest will go to the Final Four teams as a way of giving them a modest treat for their success. Our previous Treasurer is no longer with the league (Doug Hogan provided two seasons of quality service and left us very graciously), so we are in need of a new Treasurer. All owners except the new owner for 2006 as well as Andre and Matt S. are eligible (the new guys from 2005). Please contact me if interested. The only other change for 2006 is going to be the Waiver Wire system. Last year's Waiver Bucks system was a disaster, primarily because I couldn't program the site to automate the process. That resulted in inconsistent run times from me since I had to do it manually while juggling a stressful job and a new baby in the house. My new job is better and the baby is easier now that she's nearly a year old, but the system still needs a fix! If you have any ideas as an owner please email it to me. At this point I am leaning toward a system that runs twice a week based on W-L record, similar to 2002-04. Thank you very much for your ownership in the PTFFL, one of the most enduring and classic leagues around. Sincerely, Jason Reichert PTFFL Commissioner Return to Home Page |
