The New
Filipino Private School of Sharjah held last Friday, 17th
May 2002 its 6th Recognition and Commencement Exercises
for the school year 2001-2002 at Sharjah Expo Center in
Sharjah, United Arab Emirates The
recognition ceremony started with the entrance of colors,
then invocation by the High School Salutatorian, Bernabe
D. Maniquiz, Jr. Then followed by the recognition of
PTC & PTA awardees, headed by Mrs. Carmelita A.
Arriola, Labor Attache, Philippine Embassy, United Arab
Emirates. She was assisted by
PTC President Engr. Dante M. Delizo. Plaques were
given to deserving PTC officers who in one way or the
other contributed to the successful implementation of the
organization's projects of the school year
2001-2002. Recognition for the non-graduating honor
students will also given. The 6th
Commencement Exercise started with the parents and
students procession to the hall. Commencement
message was delivered by His Excellency Amable R. Aguiluz
III, Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.
Then, awards were given to the honor graduates, headed by Mrs.
Arriola, Labor Attache, assisted by Mrs. Corpuz.
Distribution of diploma were given by H.E. Amable R.
Aguiluz III.
PTC congratulates all the graduates and honor students for the school year 2001-2002.

The Parents Teachers Council of NFPS
congratulates Ms. Marie
Grace Antolin Delizo, Valedictorian of The New Filipino
Private School, school year 2001-2002. She is the eldest
daughter of Engr. Orandantes M. Delizo and Teresita Antolin.
Marie
Grace is a consistent honor student since First Year and
is very much deserving as the school Valedictorian. She
excels in academics and got almost all the awards.
She will further her studies in the Philippines at the
University of Sto. Tomas in Manila, wherein she will take up Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology.
We
wish you all the best in your chosen field of endeavor.

The Parents Teachers Council of The New
Filipino Private School of Sharjah would like to express
its sincerest appreciation and gratitude to Gold Quest,
especially to Mr. Jerry Z. Almonte, for his never ending
support to the PTC projects for the school year 2001-2002.
If not for Gold Quest, our basketball
team would have never joined the All Filipino Inter-School
Tournament. The rest of the funds went to the
players warmers and basketball shoes.

The 2nd weekend of the First Filipino
Inter-School Basketball League continued last Friday, May
3, 2002 at the Al Shaab Stadium. The first game
which started at 8:00am was between our very own, The New
Filipino Private School and Pioneers Modern School.
An exciting game which ran for 2 hours, and splendidly won
by NFPS by a large margin of 99 points to 68 points by
PMS. Congratulations to our team! [see

After the successful game, Engr. Dante
Delizo, PTC President formally handover a token of
appreciation to Coach Gary Hernandez, a simple way of
thanking him for his all out training and support to our
NFPS players [see

Food, water and beverages during the

The
Parents Teachers Council, through the perseverance of our
President, Engr. Dante Delizo, was able to solicit from
Gold Quest, spearheaded by Mr. Jerry Almonte, the payment
for the registration fee required by the organizer for a
team to be included in the league. At the same, the
rest of the donation was used to purchase the team's basketball shoes.
Last
Wednesday, 1st May 2002, Lidio Lim, Jr., PTC Business
Manager formally handover the basketball shoes to the NFPS
Basketball Team during the flag ceremony.
The Parents Teachers Council of NFPS would like to
express its gratitude to Mr. Jerry Almonte of Gold Quest
for his never ending support for the success of PTC's
projects.

joins First Filipino Inter-School Basketball
League at Al Shaab Stadium

The
New Filipino Private School basketball team joins the
First Filipino Inter-School Basketball League which
officially opened last Friday, April 26, 2002 at Al Shaab
Stadium.
The
official opening of the tournament commenced with the
parade of the team players of each schools together with
their individual muse. Schools that participated in
the tournament are The New Filipino Private School of
Sharjah (NFPS), United International Private School of
Dubai (UIPS), Pioneers Modern School of Sharjah
(PMS) and Far Easter Private School of
Sharjah (FEPS).
The
muse of each team had the chance to show off their
beauties and talents
in modeling as well as their intelligence in the question
and answer portion of the contest.

The
tournament will run for 6 consecutive Fridays at Al Shaab
Stadium, so all basketball enthusiasts are invited to see
exciting games of the future PBA players. After
the ceremony, 2nd game was between our very own, The New
Filipino Private School versus Pioneers Modern School, in
which the latter won by a point. Food,
water and beverages for the players courtesy by Monaco,
through the solicitation of Mr. & Mrs. Raffy Castillo.

Basketball Team wins the championship in the recently held
Inter-School Basketball Tournament |

The
NFPS Basketball Varsity Team wins the championship in
the recently held Inter-School Basketball Tournament
organized by Ibn Seena English School of Sharjah, under the
supervision of the Ministry of Education.
Months
of rigorous and tiring practice has finally bear its
fruits. It is the first time in the history of the
school that the NFPS varsity
team win the championship in any sporting events.
Let us thank Gary Hernandez, the coach, for patiently
training the players, Captain Jorge, the team manager for
giving his full support to the team by providing the
training venue, food and drinks to the players. And
to all the PTC officers and members who in one way or
another has made contributions for the success of the NFPS
basketball team.
The
first game is between Victoria English School and The New
Filipino Private School. The New Filipino Private
School won over Victoria English School by 46 - 11
respectively.
The
second game is between Ibn Seena Victoria English School
and Victoria English School. The Ibn Seena Victoria
English School won over Victoria English School by 19 - 5
respectively.
And
the championship bout is between The New Filipino Private
School and Ibn Seena Victoria English School, on which The
New Filipino Private School won by a large margin of 32 - 12.
Best
player is number 6, Roverick Calizo.

party is at Kentucky Fried Chicken at Fayha, Sharjah,
courtesy of Captain Jorge. Present in the celebration are, PTC President Dante Delizo
(our always active President) and his wife, Tess Delizo,
Captain Ric Jorge and Rose Jorge, Mrs. Corpuz (NFPS
Principal), Mrs. Untalan, teacher, Marlon Rita, Basketball
Team Coordinator.
Again,
our congratulations to the players! Keep up the good

PTC
extend its heartfelt congratulations to two of NFPS 4th
year students who successfully passed the University of
the Philippines college admission exam taken at Abu
Dhabi. The result came out last Thursday, February
7, 2002. Out of eight (8) 4th year students from
NFPS who took the test, only Marie
Grace Antolin Delizo and John Rommel Sitchon Cortejo
passed the difficult exam given every year by U.P. to
incoming Freshmen.
Marie
Grace Antolin Delizo will be taking up B.S. in Biology, as
a prerequisite course prior to B.S. Medicine (more
about Grace).
John
Rommel Sitchon Cortejo will be taking up B.S. in Computer
Science (more about John).
The
two successful examinees will be studying at the
University of the Philippines, Los Banos.
Again,
congratulations to both of you and may you bring happiness
to your family.

In
approaching the new year 2002, the Parents
Teachers Council of The New Filipino Private
School launched its newly developed website
intended for giving news, information and updates
to members and guests on what's happening with the
organization and the school.
Members
and guests can now browse through the internet
wherever they are, be it in the Philippines or
anywhere in the world 24 hours of the day.
The
year 2001 has been very good to the organization
and the school, with the successful outcome of the
PTC/PTA objectives for the school year 2001-2002.
