 Federal Mogul

Now You're Cooking Sailor!

Idyllic scene, sailor fishing for dinner... I've heard that hand grenades were more likely to be used in this situation.

Drew Cook notes: "The propeller ad which shows sailors fishing off the port side of PT 117 is neat, but -- the real 117 never "lived" long enough to be fitted for the second-series radar mast as she is shown with in the ad's drawing. She was destroyed, along with PT 164, in the Japanese air raid on Rendova Harbor, Solomon Islands, on the afternoon of August 1, 1943 -- the same place (and day) from which PT 109 left on her final patrol. I'm sure the ad drawing was not meant to literally represent the real 117, but as I said -- trivia!"
