Kiethe Industries is the hobby business conceived by adventurer Peter Francis Tassoni. The company isn't about making a fortune. Peter creates and makes educational tools for outdoors people. This includes games, periodical articles, and books. All profits from Whitewater: the river runner board game are donated to river recreation preservation charities.

Peter Francis Tassoni has spent over a decade guiding whitewater raft trips throughout the western United States. He wanted to reinforce river running responsibility and river stewardship lessons learned from river trips in a game. Peter began designing Whitewater: the river runner board game in March 1996. The board game was introduced in the summer of 1998 in Idaho and Utah.

Peter began work on A Hiking Guide to Cedar Mesa, Southeast Utah in March of 1998, between the winter ski seasons and summer raft seasons. Peter spent two years exploring and recording routes in the Cedar Mesa area. The editing process lasted most of the third year. A Hiking Guide to Cedar Mesa, Southeast Utah was released in May, 2001. Peter's motivations were simple: He was frustrated with the quality of the guides available and knew he could write a better one.

Peter started writing A Boater's Journal: A Decade Spent on the River in the summer of 1999. It captures ten years of rafting adventures, including the good, the bad, and the ugly, of being a commercial raft guide and nomadic river rat.

Peter Francis Tassoni started writing technical repair articles for Paddler Magazine in 1999 and has expanded his freelance writing projects to travel adventure articles (Utah Outdoors and Mount Baker Experience) and investigative journalism (Whatcom Watch and Works in Progress). When not writing, Peter volunteers in a handful of community projects, lives a spartan lifestyle and advocates for wilderness preservation.
