We all know about pokemon...the huge phenomenon fad that took over generation Y in the late 90's. Pretty much everyone quit the game when they added the second set of pokes...
Like most card gamers, we didn't really care much for pokemon until the EX sets came out (more like 6 or 7 sets after EX's came out). We all came up with basic decks and went to the 2005 Northwest Regionals. One of us got top 16, which isn't bad.
Then, again, we forgot about the game for about a year. Time comes around for the 2006 NW Regionals, and we took about a month worth of prep, and ended up with a 2nd place finish with almost everyone ending up at least in the top half of standings.
I can't say how far it'll go, but we're pretty much out again...at least until the next Regionals heads up again.
Eventually, a State Event, A Regional, and a Battle Road...whatever the hell that really is. More to come.
