What Is/Are The Leanan Sidhe?

The Leanan Sidhe are By Most accounts into Folklore, Sweetheart faeries and Or A Dark Muse. She is a Lover of the Darker Arts of Beauty, and usually makes mates of mortal artists who she gives inspiration too, in exchange for their lifeforce. The artist becomes famous, and well known but his life is usually short lived and he dies in his early age. While we all like folklore we know how most often, its not true within a stitch!

Leanan Sidhe (Lee-Nawn Shee) Is a Woman or Man who has an affinity with Dark Art and Beauty In All Things, Not Just in Mortal "men" The above is a common trend laced all throughout Victorian Romanticism, just like the Translavian Vampir. We feed on and manipulate energy of all accords and can also drink blood, draining the energy from the blood.

In Ireland and On The Isle of Man, where it is said the origins of The Leanan Sidhe originated from, she was said too lure drunken men into dance where she would bite them, and then into bed where she would seduce them and drain their energy. There she is akin to the Succubi and Incubi who does the same, only Astrally.

All of The Above is what Psychic Vampyres Do. Those who perhaps are Leanan Sidhe, accept their vampyric abilities but know that there is MORE too themselves than being vampyric in nature. Its not a Lifestyle for us, Its not a turn on, and we usually stay away and abhor the subculture because mortals are often stupid enough too think that being vampyric will save them from something..(boredom, old age, death, Reality) and or make them trendy, popular, pretty, get them laid, etc.
Leanan Sidhe consider Life energy, Life, and blood too be sacred. The Term, "the Blood is the life" from the bible is meant too be understood this way. Blood is life, and is precious and sacred and without it running through your body, You would be dead. Therefore all aspects of Life/Lifeforce is Considered sacred, such as Sex, Lifemates, twinflames, Soulmates, and their Honor are all intertwined.

The Leanan Sidhe usually do pick some one of their ancesteral line too be with, [otherkin like them, Irish, Scottish, PIctish, Welsh, Someone of the old Traditions[ and yes we usually choose Artists, Poets, Painters, people who Draw/Sketch, Singers, Warriors, etc. We may or may not feed on them, we may or may not attempt to awaken them, but thing is for sure, we do not feed on them so insistenly that they die early in life.

As Is subscribed on My Ethics pages, we Do like the psychic vampyres do. Their abilities such as Presence, aversion is called Glamoury for us. We can draw people too us and push them away from us In the same way. All Sidhe have Glamoury but the leanan Really use it too get what we want. Are we Selfish? Yes we are, but that's a trait all Sidhe have.
Just like Territorial Vampyres, we don't like people snooping about on our men, our women, our houses and property, and don't like it when guests arrive unannounced. Its like the Invasion of unmannered guests, its annoying. We don't like telemarketers, jehovah witnesses, or anything that Changes our lifestyle (unless we choose it).

There may be Leanan Sidhe out there who are Gothic. Just as Their may be humans, psyvampyres, and pet rocks. (well ok maybe not pet rocks..lol) Anyone can be Gothic, This is considered a "style". Not something someone can become or just "is born that way".

Leanan Sidhe are Considered Dubh Sidhe/ Otherkin By Most or Shadowkin. We are Mostly snubbed by the entire Otherkin Community because we drain energy. They see this as wrong. When in reality, which is a Cruel teacher - we are no more unnatural than anyone or anything else. Most of the "kin" community has issues with me. A Girl By the name of Tiernan has made it her mission too try and make me look bad or whatever you want too call it. Apparently she does not understand that I don't care what people think of me. I am not a Vampire or a Leanan Sidhe too be all pretty, accepted, popular and loved By anyone. I know my powers and abilities and its such a shame that "kin" like that Get jealous of something they can not control. I started Research On The Leanan Sidhe by Comparing notes from the Meadows Of Elphame website, where it talks about the sisters of the wood, giving them the appearance of Leanan Sidhe or Vampyres, and also The Dark Goddess worship. perhaps I should have said this before, because Tiernan took Great Glee in making fun of me because Sangrel was not a Sidhe word. (No shit sherlock! lol)
Then Again Tiernan is not Sidhe in any form or fashion so how would she know what is Sidhe and what isn't?

More Lore too Make it Clear

Another Story of the Leanan Sidhe are We Are The Children of The Morrigan The "snakes of ireland that Diancecht cast out" Who Could give Life as well as Take it away, meaning we are akin to The BeanSidhe, and the beanNighe. (banshee of ireland/scotland, beannighe/washer at the ford) We can heal with the energy we manipulate, Re-fill negative into positive energy and we may often forsee the death of another, either of relation or complete strangers. And We are of a Neutral court, belonging neither too the Seelie and Unseelie Courts, But also belonging too both at the Same time. We get along best with other Dubh Sidhe (dark Shee) or those who have an affinity for the beauty of Darkness, Like say, Psychic Vampyres.

Another Note: For those who have Read Edain's Mccoy's "Faery Folk" she lists the Leanan Sidhe as "there only being one of her". This is where I address the true Form of the Leanan Sidhe. She is quite the personification of the Crone of Witchcraft. She is Tall and Lithe, and she is a warrior. Her hair is coarse and salt and pepper gray with ablack streakd own the Middle. Her Skin Is a Light Blue, too a pasty unearthly white. (not Pale) She keeps a Cauldron in a sea cave down under newgrange. (the Cairns) On The Eastern Coast of Ireland.

In The Cauldron stirs Boiling Blood. This is another cauldron of Life in most crone/cauldron tales. The Blood Represents Life, it boils too show one the Vibrancy of Life. Lifeforce, Energy, Adrenaline. She is Hideous, but one has much too learn from Pretty faeries as the Ugly ones. She may be ugly and scary but she is gentle and she has much too teach you regardless of what you are. Working with her is not advised in Edain's Book because of her "dark aspects" - However, I feel that one can learn much from her about oneselves and ones on creativity is one is brave enough too approach her with Courage. True magick is not for fluffy lightweights.

Approach her with reverance and Curiousty and she will appreciate your effort. This is what All Leanan Sidhe look like In their True Forms. A true form is what we are at the basis of being stripped "down" from our human counterparts. We also have a tendancy too Growl. A Sort of Gutteral, "graarrrrrr" is what it has sounded like too me. But Its made deep in the throat. We also, like the Beansidhe (banshee) Will Scream, Shriek, Wail. In the Irish Cycles of The Tuatha De Dannan, Brighid is gifted with creating the Caoine or keening when she found her son, Ruadan slain in battle on the battlefield. This Death wail as its also sometimes called, Is supernatural and sounds it when its done correctly. Wailing is a good way too thawrt danger away from you.

Some believe the Leanan And The Banshee are one and the same and I have too agree somewhat On That. We have allot of the same abilities, stories and what not attached too us.

The Leanan Sidhe, The Daughters Of The Morrighan

As I do and meet more and more kin who are pagan, there seems to be a trend growing. More and More "daughters" of the Morrighan seem too be Vampyric. Wither you call yourself Leanan or Vampire, is not much difference (too me, except leanan don't go for the subculture as stated but the spiritual aspects therein) The Morrigan, The Morrigu, The Morrighan, the Morrioghon, however you want too say it - its more than just a Triple Goddess. Here is where I draw on form Awakened Memory, and this was posted and discussed and is in the archives Of TuathaPagans, and was agreed on by many (just so you know Tiernan, Ia m not reading form Andersen's fairy Tales and patching it over with my imagination again!) people in the group who know what they are talking about.

I shared a Dreaming with them (hence dreaming, meaning I went home to TirnanOg, yes it is a real place! oh my goddess imagine that! I call it Annwyn, because Too me the welsh name strikes more of a cord in me) In which I went in one of my astral forms known as Formorri. yes, (formorrian) The awful looking shapechangers who inhabitant Eire before the Tuatha De Dannan. At the time I didn't know why I was ina formorri form. The Formorrian Form consists of Spikes and scales protruding from one's elbows and wrists, and out of the Backbone Vertebrae. The skin is a brownish-yellowish color, and the Formorri have long sharp, yellowed fangs protruding over their lips. I carried a badass shield, and had a bad-ass Labyrss on my back (Double headed axe) and Carried a spear taller than myself as well. I walked into a Part of the Tir (There are many parts of it, Forests, kindoms, The Darkenstone, and many other sacred places) where On one side were Gathered The Dadga, and on the Otehr side the Morrighan.

Now when I waw the Dadga, and The Morrighan I do not mean One God and Three triple goddesses - I mean Brotherhoods and Sisterhoods. The Morrighan are a sisterhood of many, as is the Dadga A Brotherhood of many. It was Brought up by Dubhiolar on the list that The Morriighan had been In Eire long before the TDD arrived, that she was of the land when all their was, was the land. In that aspect she is a goddess of Sovereignty. In That aspect also she is seen as more formorrian than TDD. in fact he went so far as to point out that Formorrian, in some Dialects the "G" in Morrighan is Silent, so its pronounced as MORRIAN, as in Formorrian. Too Further give water too this, Morrighan had a sun called Mechi, and Mechi was Leanan Sidhe, yet Mechi had Three hearts, which give him Formorrian attributes as well. If you know your formorrian LORE you will know they had many "oddities". Hence the FORMORRIGHANS have leanan Attributes as well. The Dadga in my dreaming told me too get out of The Tir, how dare i defile the place with my presence, when The Morrigu, I call her in her single aspect "Morrigan" (also the welsh meaning of her name) Raised her hands at The Dadga and told him, "how dare you denounce my Daughter!" And I was allowed entrance. I recognized Taliesin and Nuada, Dadga and many otehrs amoung the brotherhood in my dreaming and Many Goddesses as well such as Morrigan and Macha, and Aine, and Anu, and Brighid and Callieach. I remember those form myd ays in my first incarnation As a TDD In Eire. Many don't believe me when I claim this, but They aren't me and don't have too believe it if they don't wish too. I am Me. I am Anara'Aname'Raet. That is my Kin Name, and as Long as My Mother accepts me Thats all that Matters.
