I still hear the wedding song,
As it chimes in my ears.
Remembering the first day we met
Still brings me to tears..
How the first kiss was so filled with bliss;
How every time we touched,
I felt so warm inside,
And how every time you hurt,
It was me who cried.
I remember the love that we vowed,
Always to be true,
And how we swore that no matter what happened
We would see it through.
A love so glorious, it was destined to last.
No matter how much time passed.
So many nights, we walked side by side,
As our voices rang out to keep with our stride.
And then our wedding day came.
The ring glistened, on your finger,
As a smile brightened your face.
You possessed happiness, nothing could ever replace.
And my darling, I'm sure I would have felt the same,
If on our wedding day you didn't take his name.
My heart shattered that dreadful day,
As I watched, you and him walk away.
And I wondered what differences
I would have made in my life, if I only knew;
The last words I'd ever hear you say
Would be " I do.
