I can't seem

To find a smile.

These tears keep

Blocking the way.

 

There are clouds

Where I once had dreams;

Now loneliness

has stepped on to the stage

Of my heart to play.

 

I feel like I've lost my world

As my feet continuously fall

Off of the ground.

 

Yet I try to stand;

While the quicksand

Of life

Continues to

Pull me down.

 

I reach out for the happiness,

I want the world

To feel and see.

 

When down deep inside,

All I need

Is for someone

To please,

Smile for me.
