X-Men: Next Dimension

Review
The
X-Men are back with an all new fighting game. While this is a fighting game, the
traditional fighting arenas are left behind for new expansive 3D levels. You can
play as 24 different X-Men characters. Each character has their own unique
mutant powers. There are hours of gameplay with the 5 different modes of play.
THE GOOD: Smooth 3D characters, runs
smoothly. Updated moves and new fighting style. New 3D backgrounds implemented.
Many secret levels, characters and other goodies to unlock.
THE BAD: Hit damage is too small and
takes a long time to win a round. Opponent constantly blocks! Feels too much like a cleaned-up copy of X-Men
Mutant Academy 2.
PSYLOCKE: You begin the game able to
choose Betsy. You can unlock Psylocke by completing the game with Betsy. Many
various Psylocke costumes are available to unlock thereafter.
OVERALL: X-Men Next Dimension is a
new level of 3D fighting. The characters have improved detail and appear a lot
smoother. Although very similar to X-Men Mutant Academy 2, there's still
plenty of new moves to experiment with and tonnes of stuff to unlock. Oh, and
Betsy looks sweeeet!
RATING:
out of five.
