I just got this car in July, 2001 from a junk yard for $850. I was so happy It had been wrecked on the front right side. I thought to myself I can fix that. The air filter box was busted along with the radiator the light was smashed to pieces and the hood was mangled. I towed her home and then cranked her up. She sounded great. After that I proceded to start the modifications. When I started on her I did not know everything there was to know about cars. I knew that having 198,000 miles on her was not good, but I thought that was a small price to pay for such a sweet ride. I began by going to another junk yard and getting a new hood from a 1992 for $27. While I was there I looked around and grabbed a few bolts and screws and pocketed them. (you never know when your going to need some extras) I also picked up the passenger side headlight for $8. I returned home bented the frame straight with a hammer and installed my parts on my teg. I thought to myself this is going well. Then it was time to get to work on that radiator. I took it out of my car and flushed it with water to see if there was a whole in it. There was. So, I put some JB Weld on it until it stopped leaking.(someone told me to try this first) I put it back in the car and drove it around the block for the first time. When I got back to my driveway it cut off on me. I opened the hood and the radiator resivor was boiling over. I am presently woking on getting the money to buy a new radiator. Also on that test drive there was smoke comming out of the back of the car, and water. So I might also have a blown head. How fortunate.
While I was searching the junk yards for parts, which is very hard to do for this car; my girlfriend was searching the net for parts. I told her the modifications I wanted to make and she went to work searching for them. She bought a nice Ingen air intake, Altezza taillights and a ractive rear strut tower. I love her. When I would come home each day I would get a little pissed off that I could not do anything to it because I could not find what I needed from the junk yard, so I started to make little changes to it. First I was just going to paint the trim silver. Then I was just going to paint the speaker grill yellow. Then I was just going to paint one door white. Well you know and I know you just can't paint 1 door white and leave the rest of the interior black. So I painted the whole thing. I ended up painting the speaker grill white too after much arguing with friends and family and my girlfriend. I realized everytime I started the car up the power antenna was not moving. It was making noise, but it wasn't going anywhere. So rather than fix the power antenna, I removed it and installed a regular antenna, which I like better anyway. My dual tailpipe was also crap. It had rusted to the point where one of the pipes wasn't even there any more. So removed the muffler and I cut the pipes right where they split into two and I installed a crome extention pipe and a nice 3A racing exhaust tip. This is just until I get my cat back exhaust

It's been confirmed. I have a blown Head. I guess I have to buy a new one!
Well since life is short and so are my patients, I decided that this whole engine needed to be replaced. So I did some shopping around and found an engine from a 92 GS teg with 90,000 miles on it for $600. I also bought a brand new radiator ( why not) for $135. I took some time away from my job and me and a friend put the engine and radiator in. I wish I had pictiures of the job we did, but they all looked like crap because there wasn't that much light in my friends shop. There is one problem with the job we did, I am now expieriencing "bouncing ideling" on the car. I am currently conversing with a few people from G2IC's message board to see if they can help me fix it. So far they told me to replace my O2 Sensor, so I did. It did not fix the problem, but I am glad I did. My old one looked like crap. 1/3/2002.
The Teg is in Full Effect. It passed the Emissions test and is ready for the road.

The teg seems to have a few problems still. I seem to be losing radiator fluid, but not from the radiator. I have not yet determined the problem. Also added JVC Kamelion CD player. one piece headlights, new right fender, racing pedels, indeglos, and I am still toying with the sub and amp.

I found out why I was losing radiator fluid. I needed a new water pump. So I installed a new one and while I was in there I changed the timing belt, because I do not know when the old one was replaced. It took me two months to get everything lined up. I used a lot of trial and error. I finally got it right at the end of May. I also shaved the moldings and decided to spray paint it silver until I get enough money to get a real paint job. Hopelfully I will have my car looking decent enough to go to NOPI Nationals in August at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.
