How can  Neuropsychological
Evaluation Help?

Neuropsychological Evaluation is critical for
understanding wich brain functions are impaired
and wich remain intact.  We can get important
information about the person. We can solve questions
like : Is the person able to concentrate on tasks? for how long? under what conditions?does it matters if the information is verbal or nonverbal? Standard neurological and physical examinations can not provide this information , neither the CT scans, MRIs etc.

A number of real-life questions can be answered by the neuropsychological Evaluation. Is the person who was injuried competent? Can he or she be left alone? Drive? Manage money? Live independently? Return to work or school?  What type of therapy will be needed?

Neuropsychological Evaluation is critical also in monitoring the course of recovery or the effects of rehabilitation and medical treatments.  Is the person getting better? How much? Has treatment been helpful?

Neuropsychological tests and measures are available for adults and children and they can provide information about all the higher functions of the brain, like memory, attention, language, motor skills, etc.

New methods like computer based are making this evaluations even more effective and sensitive to slight problems.

Neuropsychological Assessment is a very important piece in the understanding  and  recovery of any brain damage.
