Prayer For The Young

I wish I could hold you in the hardest times.
Some things you must face on your own.
I will always be here after the fight.
You can always call my heart your home.

And I will always love you wrong or right.
You'll always be perfect in my sight.

Don't let the light in your eyes,
Ever fade away.
Don't let the passion in your heart,
Find a resting place.

This world will leave you in the cold.
Don't always listen to what you've been told.
Some will be right, and others wrong.
You must learn to sing your own song.

Some will say they love you when they don't.
Some will say they'll be there when they won't.

Don't let someone else's sight,
Change who you are.
Don't let your want to please,
Take you too far.
