You may have noticed that the things hidden in the dark just don't matter. This darkness helped you notice the important things. They stood out like stars just like we as Christians should, and it was only after light was shed on the dark, that you could see the hate, money, etc..., things that were either evil or just didn't matter. The difference between those things that were hidden and the dark itself? The dark always bends to the will of the light, coming and going only when it is allowed to. But the other things hide in it, especially evil, and usually instead of leaving with the dark, it is exposed by the light. Don't get me wrong, evil or not, darkness usually is difficult to deal with. It's lonely and confusing, but I think we give satan too much credit at times. I think he often just sits back and laughs at us while we screw everything up on our own. And when people do not have the truth in their hearts to guid them, it's as if they decided to walk in a starless night without a lamp. They could stumble over obstacles they can't even see, causing themselves a great deal of pain at the very least. Without Christ this world is a starless night, but it's through His followers that He has chosen to shine. They are His stars. |
