I can remember the exactly what I was doing, and where I was when I heard the news. I was at work. Just getting ready to start my day. I was in a good mood...WAS! I was talking to a friend of mine, when someone comes up to me and says "Well, no more twisted christmas (for those who don't know what that is...a local radio station, 98.9 The Rock in kansas city, throws a christmas concert.). I said "What? Why's that" "Dimebag's dead!" "WHAT!" I didn't believe it. I said "Dude, don't fuck with me. I thought it was a sick joke till a couple other people said "Oh yeah! You didn't hear about that?" I was shocked to say the least. I didn't work right at all that night. Still in dis-belief, I went online. Sure enough, there it was. Posted all through-out the internet. "Dimebag Darrell was shot during a concert". To this day, it still chokes me up to think about it. My only regret was that I hadn't gotten that in to Pantera, or Damageplans music till after. Although, when I was young, my brothers would play some of their stuff, as well as some of my friends. After a long while of listening to it...I was convinced that I wanted to play guitar, amoungst other means. Dime was one of my many inspirations for wanting to play. As my brother said, "It's a fucking tragic thing that happened, but you know what? It's giving me more reason to play harder, and with more sould than ever". Metal has lost a very powerfull ally. But we still stand tall! Rest in Peace Dime! Until we meet again...or for the first time!

"I find myself trying to think of something inspirational to say in memory of a great guitar player, but all that comes to mind is this is a bullshit senseless tragedy! For WHAT? Cause some dumbass mother fucker was distraught that a band broke up. This asshole does NOT have the heart of a metal fan. So this is for all of you who do. A great musician has been lost, one who stood by metal when metal wasn't the in thing. I could elaborate, but like the true metal musician, his music speaks for itself. ANgER MgT. wants to express their sadness and respects for the tragic loss of Dimebag Darrell, our thought and prayers for his family and friends." - Brad Jones, formely of ANgER-MgT.

"With all his greatness and accomplishments on the guitar, Dime will be missed more for his giving personality, charisma, caring for others, love and most of all his HEART!! Twice as big as the state of TEXAS!!!!!!!!!!!! Dime gave it all every day to each and every one of us and our lives have forever been hollowed without him...Thanks to all of you for reaching out to us in this time of our immeasurable loss. REST IN PEACE BROTHER DIME!!!!!!" - Vinnie Paul, formely of Pantera, currently Damageplan.
