Sat.,Feb 19,'00	UVSA of Ontario and VSS of University of Toronto will be putting on student performances from dancing, singing, skits and musical instrumentals.

Hoi Xuan Canh Thin The New Year fair was at the same location as last year's fair but in a different "well structured" building. The attendance at this year's fair was crowded with people. Trish started of the New Year and Don Ho ended it. Lam Thuy Van should have ended it as was evident by the crowd screaming for encores and she entertained the crowds with her encore not to put Don Ho down who was equally entertaining. Hoai Linh was as always very popular with the audience with his witty humour. One story he told very well was about a "bird" contest where only old men can enter. Lily Dorian was the surprise of the New Year. A name most haven't heard, she wowed the crowd with her first words. A "white" female, from New Brunswick, with no connections whatsoever with Vietnam, she sang Vietnamese songs brilliantly. Strange that she can't speak Vietnamese well but can sing well. If you haven't heard of her, I guarantee she's worth listening to because her singing sounds exactly like Huong Lan. No kidding, got to see it for yourself! Trish was very sexy and mature looking as opposed to Asia marketing her as a sweet innocent teenage girl. Poor Don Ho, who lost his luggage to Toronto, had to wear Hoai Linh's clothes. He was very energetic in his singing and charmed the crowd. Lam Thuy Van was 10 times better in real life than on video, where she's portrayed as soft and innocent. I guess Asia likes to portray them as innocent. But she's "a little" more fierce in live and her singing is sooo beautifully sweet than on video. It was worth it alone just to see her live.
