If you drink then ride, your going to die... but it is fun...

Mountain biking rocks, the only problem is getting to somewhere around Melbourne where you can have a decent ride. I've ridden anywhere and everywhere and since I got my Speedo in December `99 I've covered some two thousand five hundred k's (the date now is 27/12/00). My ride is a VERY Modified Shogun Slickrock STX, aluminum frame, a full STX RC group set and RST 381 suspension forks. It's a great bike for the $880 bucks I forked out and it gives a good ride. Plus... - Azonic Shorty Stem 70mm - Alex Supra-E Pro rims. Black spokes and Black Specialized Hubs with 9mm quick release - Azonic Riser Bars. Double Wall - Shimano Deore XT Rear Derailleur - Azonic A-Frame Platform pedals - Specialized cromoly double butted rigid forks Well since i snaped my RST 381's out of the crown on a picnic table, and then blew my Manitou SX e's somehow, i've chucked on some rigid forks for a while. One day, every weekend we will all chuck all our bikes in the back of the car and go kill our selves down the side of Mt. Bulla, or some where. Have to get a car first. I'm hooked, I ride for the rush, the feeling you get when flying down something really big and really steep, Knowing that only the slightest mistake could send you flying over the cliff just to your right or face first into that blur of a tree on the left. Tears running down your face from the wind as you bounce off and invisible root and grind to a halt wondering what happend. Note: This page has a few pic's on it to make it look good and they take a few seconds to load. But you don't have to wait for them... NO GAME NO PAIN NO GAIN!
Top Speeds so far (no bull) Speed Where Exactly - 76 kph Belgrave Paddy track in The Dandenong Ranges National Park. Brings tears to your eyes. - 60 kph Mt Bulla All the way down the main road from the Village at the top to the entrence at the bottom, The only way to fly. - 62 kph Upper Ferntree Gully Mt. Dandenong tourist road. down Down DOWN. watch that last corner, it's a tight one. Broke the speed limit, passed some cars. - 64 kph Belgrave The track that runs along Monbulk road from Grants picnic ground to Belgrave. Very fast and up and down. Watch the five meter drop onto the bizzy road on the right. What a rush. Track ends with a nicely placed invisible pothole. MMMMMMMM yeah. - 65 kph Curchhill National Park The directions are down below. But the track that I did it on is the wide gravel one that leads down from the highest part of the bald, grassy hill with the big steel marker in it. Very bumpy. Watch that last corner, it's a bitch. AFRAID? DON'T EVEN BOTHER!

Has anyone noticed the fact that his front tyre is about slip off the rock... i hope he's ok

This is an exert(with a slight bit of editing)from Shakespeare's Macbeth.

This supernatural cycling,
cannot be ill, cannot be good.
If ill, why hath it given me such earnest suspension?
Commencing in a drop off, I am thane of mountain biking.
If good, why do I yeild to such a small fracture,
whose horrid image doth unfix my collar bone,
and make my melted brake pads scratch at my rims
against the laws of physics? Present fears
are less interesting than horrible landings.
My bike, whose snapping yet is but fantastical,
shakes so my single state of madness
that traction is smothered in mud,
and nothing is un-rideable, but what is not attempted.
