Originally just a simple re-skin - the JA player model "Jarron Siscer", was always intended as an exclusive to "The Rising Empire" Mod for Jedi Academy, and never for individual release.
The JA player model "Raamus", is exclusive to "The Rising Empire" Mod. Not too much work went into him, since he's just a re-shape and re-skin of the pre-existing Jedi model.
JEDI OUTCAST / JEDI ACADEMY MODELS:
The JA player model "Link". (Click the image to download Link 4.0 for JA @ www.JK2Files.com) Modeled after the character from the popular Nintendo franchise "The Legend of Zelda" Originally my first released model. The first version, sucked... HISTORY: Version 1.0 A re-shape, slight modeling, re-weighting and re-skin of the Jedi Trainer model in Jedi Outcast, led to the start of Link's appearance in Jedi Outcast... Version 2.0: A few things have been added and changed. The Link's sword sheath is now included on the model (also removeable) - the strap across the torso, and the belt are more detailed (modeled buckles, and such...). Link's face has some slight modeling tweaks, but not very noticeable - the eyebrows on the face have been adjusted, (not to mention the wonderful eye-fix by {DX}Obiwan) I think it looks much better. Other than that, I think it's just about perfect, now. (comment: What the hell was I thinking, back then?) Version 3.0: Re-modelled the hair and re-shaped the nose, somewhat - he looks more like Link, now. Added more detail to the gauntlets, and adjusted the boots, a bit. Added the "sheath" version (with CTF skins, of course). (comment: seriously, I should go back in time and kick my a$$) Special Bonus skin in Version 3.0: The Fierce Deity. Additional meshes were added to make this skin possible. Textures re-created by me, spending hours in Photoshop, glancing back and forth from screen to Majora's Mask player's guide, for reference. If you don't like the Fierce Deity, atleast appreciate, my greatest skinning job to date. =) (comment: It wasn't a bad skinnig job -but now it's better) Version 3.JA: Fully supported for JA (to the best of my abilities) Even works 100% with Dual blades... -All skins work correctly, in JA, as well as the sounds. -Swords included in zip as seperate PK3s, and work as selectable hilts with JA. -Bots use their respective hilts as well... (Comment: did not have JA's Character Customization support) Version 4.0: -I originally started re-doing Link, back in late 2004... Simple tweaks, and later in spring 2005, I added the "Twilight Princess" gauntlets... -Late Fall 2005, I started remodelling, skinning and re-UV mapping Link, and adding things for a fairly decent "Twilight Princess Link" model -Basically fixed most of the clipping issues, due to re-modelling, almost everything. -Added FULL JA Support - Character Customization support with color palettes. (Previous version "Link 100%JA", it was not.) -Added "Open Jedi Project" holster tags. The sword and shield should holster themselves perfectly with any mod that uses this function - considering the sword is saber_1 and shield is saber_2 (Lightsabers or any other swords/weapons might look odd) This model is now, officially 100% JA compatable. Included, with this version, as a bonus - is "Young Link", from "Ocarina of Time"/"Majora's Mask" (I tried making him look like a cross between the two)
UNRELEASED JEDI OUTCAST / JEDI ACADEMY MODELS:
The JA player model "Ganondorf". Modeled after the main antagonist from "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" HISTORY: Version 1.0 I admit, that I used a ported model, to build the model around, to get the right proportions on the face, and the body. Plus I used some of the "Ocarina of Time" concept art, as a reference... ...Other than that, it was all pretty much my own interpretation. So yeah, he is a little different from the way he appears in the concept art, and Super Smash Bros. Melee. My first player model, made completely from scratch. (Ok, I did cheat with the hands, by using the hands off of a JA model - but everyone else does it, damnit!)
The JA player model "Yuna". (Click the picture to download the model from JK2files.com) Modeled after the character from Final Fantasy X HISTORY: This was a bitch to make. I for some reason started this model, as a collaboration with someone who calls himself "The Beast". I originally attempted this, after people started saying how much Leela looked like Yuna, from FFX. So, naturally, I was curious. It didn't seem like it would take much...but it was almost a year since "The Beast" and I started it. Very complex costumes - LOTS of Detail. Would I do this again if I had the chance? Hell no. I've learned that quite alot of Final Fantasy fans can be assholes. No pleasing them...not unless you want to waste time you don't have.
Leela was originally intended to be an exclusive player model to "The Rising Empire" - back when the mod was in it's early stages. Her first incarnation was several different re-skins (since I didn't know how to model, then). One day I simply got fed up, because none of the re-skins looked right, and forced myself to lear how to model, and get it working in the game. Originally, there was really nothing special about this model, it was basically a "Frankenstien" project, in which I took various pieces of existing Jedi Outcast female models - the only 2 female models (Jan, Tavion), to come up with one that looked half-way normal and had everything needed to create a quick female skin (by purposly using the original model's skinmaps) - in case I wanted to add a few different female characters, in the story. Just something simple that I could be happy with, that I could use with the mod - and released it for others to enjoy. Taking pity on any other modders out there, who were probably stuck in the same position as me at the time (a severe lack of proper Female Player models, for the game), I decided to be very lenient, on anyone who wanted to re-skin the model... Later on, it seems that modeling from scratch would have indeed, been more efficient, and less of a hassle with the community. Today, I've corrected alot of these errors. It has it's own skinmaps, and though it's not as simple to skin - she looks much better. With the release of other female models, that now do a better job of providing a more customizable character for Jedi Academy, I've decided against releasing an update to Leela, and instead concentrating on her original purpose - a Character in "The Rising Empire":
The JA player model "Mohc", is exclusive to Anthony Piggott's "Enter the Dark Lord" SP Mod, for Jedi Academy. Not too much work went into him, since he's just a re-shape and re-skin of the pre-existing Imperial Officer model. The only thing about this model that I like, really, is the face - I think it's a much more accurate representation, than the model being used in the Dark Forces JA Mod
The JA player model "George", was originally intended to be used in a sort of mock-u-mentary "making of" called "Behind the Helmet" for Anthony Piggott's "Enter the Dark Lord" SP Mod, for Jedi Academy. Not too much work went into him, since he's just a re-shape and re-skin of the Mohc model, and a reshape-reskin of "Kyle Katarn's head. He's currently planned to make a guest appearance in "The Rising Empire"
