Well this is one of the most wellknown rumors on the internet today. There are some people out there that still believe it can still be done. Most people believe this rumor because of the fact that you can see the ghost of Aeris in church of the slums on the second or third disc. That left many people to believe it could be done. Its said that if you get all 1/35 SOLDIER toy set, you will get a robo sephiroth that will save Aeris from Sephiroth stabbing her. geez, who ever came up with that one must have a really good imagination. Another way some people say you can revive Aeris is being nice to Aeris and telling her that you would take her on the highwind someday.
Bottomline: There is no way to revive Aeris. The only way to revive Aeris is by using a gameshark. But doing that, she wont have anything to say because she wasnt programmed to be in the second or third disc. And plus, she will only be in battles and how fun is that? bottomline, Aeris is dead thats all there is to it.
Rumor: Get Sephiroth to join your party
Back in the day, when i first got this game, i thought that sephiroth was gonna join my party because his face was in the instruction booklet. well this rumor is part true and part false. well, he does join your party..........in Cloud's flashback. The downside to this is the fact that he is controlled by the CPU and not you. Another way people say you can get Sephiroth is by collecting the eight statues of sephiroth all around the world.
Bottomline: Why the hell would you want this guy in your party?! I mean he looks cool and all, but think about it story wise, this game would lose its very point of the story if sephiroth would join up with you. after all what sephiroth has done to cloud, what is sephiroth gonna say? Sephiroth: "Sorry for burning down your hometown cloud. lets be friends and beat up on the shinra ok? " Cloud: "OK Sephiroth,!" Bottomline, no chance in hell Sephiroth will join up with you( at least not without a gameshark)
Rumor: Four WEAPONS
I can understand where this comes from and the mistake some people make on this one. in the game, people see four weapons shoot out of the crater. you only see four because Diamond weapon cant fly like the other weapons. the biggest mistake people make is with sapphire and emerald weapon. some people say that sapphire weapon is emerald weapon.
Bottomline: There are Five weapons: Ultimate, Ruby, Emerald, Diamond, and Sapphire. People usually mistaken Sapphire for Emerald because they say that emerald has no head and sapphire has no head since it got blown off by the sister ray cannon. Sapphire was killed by the cannon, i dont think it would be swimming around looking to get into fights. bottomline: There are Five WEAPONS no more, no less.
Rumor: Get Zack to join your party
I dont know where this one would come from. I think that it came from people who played the japanese version where as there was no closure to what actually happened to Zack. But, in the american version, on Disc 2 after cloud figures out what really happens in his past, if you go to the basement of the shinra mansion, you will see what happened to Zack and Cloud. When Zack and Cloud were near the outskirts of Midgar, they were cornered by some Shinra SOLDIERS where Zack was shot dead.
Bottomline: It would be nice to have Zack in your party, but unfortunetly, just like with aeris, he's dead, gone back to the planet. Some people just have to realise, this aint Dragonball Z. You cant collect seven magical balls and wish a person back to life. bottomline: Zack is a dried up skeleton so I doubt he will join up with you.
Rumor: Tifa Shower FMV
Just when you thought the weird got weirder, at one time there was what I think has to be the MOST stupidest thing I have ever heard. It was said that if you keep staying at inns, you will get a special FMV where you get to see Tifa taking a shower. I'm guessing this person probably made it up after he played Parasite Eve 2 where there is an FMV where Aya is taking a shower.
Bottomline: If their was an FMV where Tifa would be taking a shower, almost everyone i know during the time this game came out would be talking about it. Also, this game wouldnt recieve a Teen rating because there would be a little nudity. It would've got a Mature rating instead. bottomline: The only way you can see Tifa naked is by looking at some hentai or doujinshi.
Rumor: Get Supernova Materia
You know, people who play Final Fantasy VII must have a really active imagination. anyways, to acquire this special materia, you must defeat Ruby WEAPON first, then when you get the desert rose, instead of taking it to the kalm traveler, go to Junon and go to where the cargo ship used to be. Their will be a sailor there. Talk to him and give him the desert rose and the sailor guy will give you the supernova materia.
Bottomline: Why would some sailor guy carry around a materia that could destroy a whole solar system? also, why would square give you something like that when you could just go get Knights of the Round instead? bottomline: this rumor is utterly BS. Don't believe a word of it.
Rumor: Final Fantasy VII was originally suppose to be 4 Disc(Thanks to Cloudhiroth)
I think i remember this. If i remember correctly, in the Gamefan magazine, they had an interview with Tetsuya Nomura and he had said something about wanting to originally stretch this game to 4 Discs. But due to time problems, they didnt have enough time to put in alot of other stuff they wanted to.
Bottomline: This is definitely a fact. In Japan, FFVII was re-released as Final Fantasy VII International and guess what?......There was a special fourth disc added in. On the disc was artwork and more stuff on the story. Bottomline: This is a fact because its believeable that there was alot they wanted to put in this game. Plus i read it in an interview so yep, its fact.
