| Teams | |||||||||||||||||
| Teams should be comprised of ten players, one of which will be the designated captain. The captain is responsible for maintaining team scores and reporting them to the babble league at [email protected]. Team captains are also responsible for being aware of all League Rules and Regulations and making sure that their teams are aware of the rules and understand them. Captains will also play a crucial role in scheduling matches and communicating to their team members any information and updates made by the Babble League. There should be a co-captain in the event that the captain is not available for a match. Six players will play at a given time. The remainder of the players will act as substitutes. Captains will contact team players and determine which six players will be available for that particular match. All team members should have instant messenger so that they can communicate to get a game room set up. It may be necessary to change rooms and use seat blocks names to prevent others from entering the game play. |

| Game Room Set-up | |||||||||||||||||
| Setting up game rooms will require coordination among team captains and team members via instant messenger. Team captains will decide on a room, and inform all players what room to enter. Players will then "rush" that room on their team captain's signal and wait for all players to arrive. No one will make sentences or vote until all players are present. If a player comes in that is not a part of either team, by waiting it out and not playing, that player will likely leave. It may be necessary to load "seat saver" nics until all players have entered the room. In the event that a player gets booted, the current round will continue without interruption. A player should notify the team captain immediately if they are booted. The next round will not continue until that player returns. If a player leaves and must reboot, the team captain may choose to load a seat saver for that player. That team will continue play with the team members that are present. If a player notifies the captain that he or she must leave the match, the captain may substitute another available player, or load a seat saver and continue the match with 5 players. |

| Game Format | |||||||||||||||||
| Games will be played in the best of 5 format. The team that wins 3 of the 5 games will win that match. Team captains are responsible for notifying the Babble League via email immediately following a match with the scores for the games. No one will make a sentence until both team captains have had time to record the scores for that game and give the go ahead that it is time to continue with the next babble theme. The games will be played in a theme format as follows (these themes are subject to change): Panders Babbles should contain a pander for a fellow babbler, creative panders should be expected. 4 Corners The first babble sentence will start with the word in the upper left corner. 4 Words Babble sentences must contain 4 words. Movie Themes Be creative with any movie title, character, or theme. Regular Babble Anything goes. Each team will play the teams in their division 2 times and teams from other divisions once. |

| Cheating | |||||||||||||||||
| Although it is nearly impossible to verify if a team is cheating, teams are expected to play in an ethical and honest manner. Any team suspected of cheating must forfeit that match. Only a suspicion of cheating is required, so it is important that noone gives reason for someone to assume that cheating has occured. Teams may not discuss which sentences to vote for either within the game or on instant messenger. It should be assumed that all players will vote for what they individually believe is the best sentence. Players can not make statements in main chat that would directly or indirectly signal their sentences to other players. There should be no discussion in main chat or private whisper during the voting phase. Let's keep this fun and on the up and up so that everyone can enjoy the competition on an equal level. |
