Originally, my associate Enzo had just planned to give his Kämpfer a new custom paint scheme. However due to unfortunate circumstances (he lost one of the leg thrusters), he decided to go with the ground type modification - puttying the holes in the legs. Other than this modification however, this is basically the old Kämpfer.

the modifed leg

The story goes, this particular Kämpfer was prepped for use on Earth by giving almost the same modification given to the MS-06F Zaku IIs to turn them into J types, by removing the leg thrusters (deemed unnecessary) to save weight and increase the units range. By making the weight of the legs lighter, the MS can now move faster and react quicker on the ground where the legs are more important than they were in space.

The Kämpfer Ground Type or Ground Use Kämpfer would have been perfect for sugical strike special ops whre a large amount of firepower was needed to be used on a certain target as quickly as possible. The Kämpfer Ground Type - if it was ever made fully operational - would be used to strike behind enemy lines using it's overwhelming firepower to cripple the Federal Forces by taking out supply lines and or preventing retreat.

Me and Enzo have been playing a lot of Counter-Strike lately so we just couldn't resist putting the Kämpfer in a Terrorists Win pose.

Ah the chain mine, in space, it would be primarilly used to cripple/destroy any enemy MS or ship that would have been difficult to take out with regular weapons (e.g. a Gundam). On Earth, it can be used in a similar fashion but can also be used claymore style, used as a trap to cripple oncoming MS, or remote detonated from a distance to slow down enemy advance.
