The Awakening
By. Karla W. Pritchett
You are the stars
shining, shimmering beacons of hope
so close but so far away,
reachable, but always out of grasp.
You view my mortal faults
and embrace them into the deep void,
hiding them from the world,
hiding them from myself
...you make me pure again.
Your touch,
like the caress of tender dying petals
brings my skin to life.
Your voice
awakens me from within
like forgotten embers of the old earth.
My world was just a myth
lost and forgotten by time
but you have turned the weathered page
and set my story free.
You are the stars,
shining, shimmering beacons of hope
you guide me through the shadowy darkness
and i find that I exist.
