Background: He grew up with his parents and his sister, six years younger than him. His parents were artists and divorced when he was young. His father re-married an american women when Till was 12. Till has two daughters. He brought up Nele, his first born, on his own for almost seven years. He got divorced and has not yet re-married.

He lives in Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg in a top flat with big windows. He likes Marilyn Manson but also listens to calmer music like Chris Isaak. He was a Euroean Youth swimming champion when he was younger but an injury in his stomach ended his swimming-career (If you watch the 'Live Aus Berlin' video closely you can see his scar). Unlike the other band members, Till is very reluctant to give interviews. It has been observed that he has his left ear pierced, but doesn't wear an earring in it. He also sometimes wears glasses. He is rumored to have have lost his virginity at 16 on a haystack!

When he was young his parents broke up so he lived with his mother and stepfather. He has worked as both a salesman and cashier at a bottle return. He is divorced and got re-married with actress Caren Bernstein on October 29th 1999. They met in New York and he proposed to her after one week. Richard has a daughter that can be seen on the Live aus Berlin video (Tier), she was born in 1992. His daughters name is Khira Li Lindemann, but she is not Till's daughter.

His Christian name is Sven, not Richard. He lives in Berlin in the same house as Rammstein's manager, Emu. He used to wrestle when he was young. Some of his favourite bands are: Kiss, AC/DC and Black Sabbath. He changed his name to Bernstein after the marriage with Caren. He speaks very good English. He smokes also.

The only music that Flake listens to is Johnny cash. Flake is pronounced Flah-keh. Flake quotes "Our style came out of knowing exactly what we didn't want, we didn't want to make American ftink music, or punk. That's something we couldn't do at all. He got his first drumset on his 14th birthday from his brother, it was made of trashcans and such. He used to play handball earlier.
