| Earth is the element of stability and of the body. Earth's direction is North, its color is green, its time of day is Midnight, and its season Winter. Earth's elemental spirit is usually gnomes, but it can be trees, flowers, branches, any living thing since earth is what bounds us together with the land, we are from the land, and therefore must look after it as it looks after us. The Magickal tool of Earth is a stone or pentagram, but you can also use branches, leaves, flowers, flower petals, etc. Earth is wisdom, strength, growth and prosperity. It is the pyhsical earth and the very heart of life. Earth is a feminine element and governs stone and knot magick. Earth's magick in the pentagram is of truth. |

| Air is the element of the mind. (so airhead is a good thing!) Air's direction is East, its color yellow, its time of day is Dawn, and its season Spring. Air's elemental spirit is Slyphs or Sprites. The Magickal tool of Air is the athame or sword. Air is intellect, inspiration, imagination. It is ideas, knowledge, dreams and wishes. Air is the element of new life and new possibilities. Air is a masculine element and governs the magick if the four winds. Air's magick in the pentagram is of love. |

| Fire is the element of change and passion. It is creativity, motivation, will power, drive and sensuality. It is sexuality, both physical and spiritual. Fire's direction is South, its color red, its time of day is Midday, and its season summer. Fire's elemental spirit is Firedrakes or Salamanders. The Magickal tool of Fire is the wand or staff. Fire is the element of authority and leadership. Fire is a masculine element and governs all candle magick. Fire's magick in the pentagram is of knowledge. |

| Water is the element of emotion and subconscious. It is love, purification, intuition, mysteries of thy self, compassion and family. It is psychic ability. Water's direction is West, its color blue, and its time of day Twilight. And its season is Autumn. Water's elemental spirit is Undines or Merfolk. Water's magickal tool is a chalice or cauldron. Water is a feminine element and governs water, and mirror, and the inner part of ones self. Water's magick in the pentagram is of wisdom. |
| Spirit is not a physical essence, it is what unites the other elements together to give them shape and being, and so it represents transformation. In magick the element of spirit is usually envisioned as a web or white light. Spells invoking the element of spirit are usually for spiritual growth and transformations, and are usually cast by those who wish to learn more about magick through personal experience. Spirit's magick in the pentagram is one of power. |
