Card 1: The past.
Represents a portion of the past that is the basis of the question. Card
2: Emphasis. This card also represents the past and is an emphasis card telling
more about what led up to present situation.
Card 3 and 4: Energy surrounding the question.
Factors in play at the time of the question which are important to be
considered. What the inquiring person feels about the present situation..
If it's about a relationship: The cards represents male and female attitudes
about the question. It is NOT specified which card is male and which is female.
You'll just have to know!
Card 5: What to work for.
What needs to happen or be worked for, to attain the outcome.
Card 6: The outcome.
The outcome or immediate future.

The Celtic Cross
This is probably the most wide spread tarot layout, and because of this
there are also a lot of different variations of it
Card 1: The situation.
This is the core of the situation, how things are right now.
Card 2: What covers the situation.
Good dignified this is something that can help you in the situation. Ill
dignified it's an obstacle.
Card 3: Thought and expectations.
The querents thoughts and expectations of the question at hand.
Card 4: The foundation.
What the querent has brought with him/her from earlier experiences.
This is the far past that has moulded the querents personality. This is
the sub-consious.
Card 5: The near past.
Something from the near past that is influencing the current situation.
Card 6: The near future.
What will happen in the near future.
Card 7: The inner world.
What the querent feels about the querent situation.
Card 8: The outer world.
How you surroundings perceive the querents way of handling the situation.
Card 9: Hopes and fears.
The querents hapes and/or fear. Whether this is hopes, fears or both
depends on the card and the reading in general.
Card 10: The outcome.
This is the final outcome, how things will look if the situation is
handled according to the advises of the layout.
