| Introduction In the wonderfully diverse world of Naruto, there are countless different techniques used by countless different characters, and it is very clear that we haven't even begun to scratch the surface of all the different Jutsu. We emulate this very closely in TheSato, working with upwards of a thousand unique techniques, many of which being TSN-exclusive, making the task of creating your individual character very feasible. However, while there is a near-infinite amount of diversity flying around, there is still the process of learning these techniques that requires mentioning. In TSN, techniques cost Training Points, or TP, which are earned through performing Missions and Roleplaying. The specifics of how these are earned, and in what quantities, can be found in several other manuals. In this guide, however, the specifics of applying these Points to learning Jutsu will be explained. __________________ Sig: | |||||||||||

| Jutsu Ranks and Costs In both the Naruto world and TSN, all the different techniques are divided up into several different ranks, based on the difficulty of use, the strength of the technique, and the difficulty of learning the technique. These ranks begin at E, the lowest, then progress alphabetically-backwards through D, C, B and A, before peaking upwards to S, which is saved for "Masters" techniques, or those skills used by people who have a nearly-complete understand and control of that element. There are also X-ranks, which represent "Forbidden" techniques, or techniques that your specific village, clan, or division has outlawed, and you can be considered criminally culpable both for knowing, or for using. In most instances, these Jutsu are considered forbidden due to being too powerful, too uncontrollable, or due to severely injuring or killing the user in the process. In the series, we see several instances of "X-ranked" techniques, from Anko's Soujasousai no Jutsu, or "Double Snake Assassination Technique", which kills both the user and the target, as well as Rock Lee's infamous Renge techniques, which cause severe backlash and can heavily damage the user. Jutsu that tamper with the lives of others, such as Orochimaru's Edo Tensei, with which he killed off his subordinates in order to ressurect the First and Second Hokages, would also be considered forbidden, due to the high cost of the technique. The last category is the least seen, labelled here as "SX-ranked" techniques. These techniques, in addition to being considered forbidden, are capable of affecting the world in permanent ways, or on massive scales. If someone in the Wind Country was to use a massive weather-alterring technique that caused the Fire, Water, and Lightning countries to dry up, that would be considered an SX-rank technique. Only a handfull of people even know the existance of such techniques, and none have used them without dire consequence. The TP-costs of these techniques represent the time it takes to learn how to use them properly. Under normal circumstances, a member can simply pay the appropriate cost once they get enough Training Points, and claim a Jutsu of that rank as their own, provided they meet the Requirements to learn said Jutsu [Also, you must be of the correct nationality/clan in order to learn that technique in this manner]. The following table states the current Jutsu-costs.

| Teacher/Student Roleplaying In addition to learning Jutsu the simple, straightforward way by purchasing them with TP, there is the alternate method of learning them through extensive roleplaying. This method, while taking considerably more effort, is truer to the heart of roleplaying, and is thus rewarded. There are four specific styles of learning Jutsu in this manner, and each of which will require a Judge to mark the finished results of the roleplay to establish if it was sufficient to learn the technique. These styles are as follows: Student-and-Teacher, which is where a member teaches another member a technique, requiring several posts from them both. The overall quality of both people is taken into account, as a poor teacher is unable to teach even the best of students. This manner allows for the least amount of individual effort, as well as for the highest amount of Mission-rewards and highest capacity for Jutsu-availability. NPC'ing, which is when a member claims an assorted Non-Player Character knows the technique they wish to learn, and then proceeds to roleplay both themself and the NPC in order to transfer said knowledge. This offers a very limited scope of Jutsu-ranges, cannot be used to learn Jutsu from another country, and takes a fairly large number of posts. Scrolls, where the member purchases a Jutsu scroll from one of the various shops [costing real Yen], and proceeds to roleplay how they learn the technique from this scroll. Again, a fairly lengthy process, with fair rewards, but it is only limited by scroll availability as to what can be learned. Self-Taught, being the method where a user sees and comes to understand a Jutsu, before heading out into the field to learn it, themself. This is the longest process, and also requires the user state where they were told the specifics of the technique being learned, as you cannot just simply "brainstorm" out how the chakra is moulded and such, on a regular basis. It is important to note that all Training sessions done in this manner, even if unsuccessful in actually learning the technique, will result in RP-Training Mission rewards, based on the following scale of Rank to TP-gain: Quote:
It is also important to note that the Jutsu learned still costs the appropriate amount of TP, as per the previous post, but you will find the bonus rewards from these roleplays to more-than make up the difference in TP-cost, usually allowing for some leftover TP to be taken home, too. So, without further ado, the following chart explains, for whatever rank of technique being learned, how much much be accomplished in order to learn that Jutsu. Quote:
While this may be a bit much to take in, it's fairly simple if you look at it one step at a time. Here is an example to help explain: Quote:
