| 1. Lead a "Jump Start Session" (10 points) Use a "Do you want to be a Millionaire", "Jeopardy", team competition, charades, or other creative format. A "Jump Start Session" is a mini (7 minute) review of what has been covered in past sessions plus chapter to be discussed on that day. (team project 2 to 4 people) |

| 2. Interview a V.I.P. (10 points) Bring a living or dead person (cleverly disguised as one of your classmates) who has made a major contribution to the field of psychology and interview them in front of the class. (7 minutes, team project of 2-3 people). |

| 3. Interview a Rat. (10 points) Present behaviorism from a rat's perspective. Or use another animal to discuss species-typical behavior and comparative psychology. (7 minutes, team project 2-5 people). |

| 4. Interview a real person (10 points) Bring in someone whose work deals with subjects covered in our text book (e.g., a doctor who works with people who have had brain damage). (7 minutes, individual or team project). |

| 5. Standard Term Paper (20 points) Pick out a subject that grabs your interest to explore in more depth. Subject and rough draft must be discussed with instructor. (e.g., you might read some of Carol Gilligan's work evaluate her criticisms of Kolhberg's study of moral development.) Minimum seven pages. (Individual project). |

| 6. Standard Research Paper (30 points) Use APA guidelines and conduct a "mini-experiment" and write up results. Here the emphasis is upon learning the format and procedure. The experiment does not have to win the Nobel Prize. Proposal must be discussed with instructor. (Individual or team project). |

Read a Psychological Novel (30 points) Pick out a novel like William Faulkner's "The Sound and the Fury" or James Joyce's "Portrait of an Artist" and review it from a psychological perspective (e.g. discuss stream of consciousness style; conflicts of identity, ego, superego in characters; dysfunctional families, etc.) |

Personal Experience (20 people) Participate for 3 or more session in counseling with a licensed counselor or approved self-help group on an area of interest to you, (e.g., increasing self-esteem or decreasing smoking, drinking, test anxiety, etc...) Write a one page minimum paper on your experience and evaluate what you felt was effective and why. (Individual project). |

| 9. Set up a Website (20 points) Create a website with links to other websites which would be good resources for other students studying psychology. (Individual or team project). |

| 10. Other (10 to 30 points) Discuss with instructor a creative project that you would like to do which would enhance your understanding of psychology. |

| 11. Read a book, write a review relating content to principles covered in textbook and in class, and present the review to the class. (Individual or team project) (10 to 30 points as negotiated with instructor). | ||||
