LUCKY
SCI-FI
LUCKY is a short (15 min.) allegoric science
fiction script.
Lucky is a Freak. Cocky and confident, he is a minor leader in his
cloistered community.
He and all other Freaks have been banished into Freak Towns throughout
the world, to keep them out of the general population of the Normals.
The Freaks are mutants; in the eyes of the Normals they are sub-human.
Over the years, the Freak Towns have become entertainment for the
Normals. Tourists are bussed in to observe the Freaks. And, although the
Freaks profit from the money the tourists toss them, the Freaks resent
the situation.
When a beautiful, seemingly Normal girl is delivered to Freak Town as a
Freak, Lucky begins to question the policies that have divided Freaks
from Normals. He remembers the lessons Gramps taught him, and realizes
there is something very wrong with this system.
In the end, Lucky decides something must be done.
