It there’s one concert that is to be memorable for me, it would definitely be the ‘Gawad Kalinga Concert’ (GK Concert).

Last October 2, I, with Donna, Julie, Belle, and CE, attended the said concert at The Fort. Other YFCs (campus-based) were also with us.

GK Concert definitely had it all. Big stars like Garry V, Kuh Ledesma, Martin Nievera, Joel Torre, Apo Hikings Society, and Bamboo, really gathered the crowd together. Imagine, The Fort was over crowded by people from different regions.

This concert was held for a cause, which is the main purpose of the formation of GK—to have 700,000 homes, in 7,000 communities, in 7 years. It may seem impossible, but no, it is definitely possible. You should have been there to see the crowd and every individual working for this goal. Companies like Smart and ABS-CBN were but just two of the big companies that were sponsoring the project.

This has definitely brought a feeling of relief. Despite all those crisis that is going on, the Filipinos are still striving hard to help pull this country, the Philippines, together.

So come on, and be part of this project. Let us help in building a brighter future, for our less fortunate brothers and sisters. It is not only that you would feel inside because you’ve done a good deed, but also have fun.. Especially when concerts like this are being held!
