Look out my window at the sky, I see a star dart through my vision. I wish upon it for a bright day, And hope for my love to last. I lay my head down on my pillow, And again I wish for a sparkling future. As I close my eyes, I feel complete. For I believe that my hope is pure and my love unburdened. But then I feel fear. For there is lingering doubt in my mind, That my hope is not pure, And my love not unburdened. For I know that throughout my life, I will forever be hoping for the best, Yet expecting the worst.
