| KISS MY ASS! | ||||||||
| I really hate People who are into bands because Rolling Stone said they are "the next big thing" or who pretend to be elite because they listen to "indie" bands that MTV plays, and put down others for listening to non-indie music. I love KISS. They are one of the greatest god damn bands in the motherfucking world and those of you who disagree can kiss my ass. I love Velvet Revolver. The new supergroup with Scott Weiland and the GnR rhythm section. What I don't like is being made fun of, or having people make disparaging remark about the fact that I love those bands. There is a fucking reason they ruled the world. And you cannot tell me that seeing an indie band that no one has ever heard of along with maybe 20 other people is more fun than being in the middle of a fucking mosh pit along with some thousand other people, screaming out lyrics to hit songs. The adrenaline man! the rush! I mean, indie bands are trying to be different, sometimes at the expense of good songwriting. (And what's with those bands with no bass player? The bass is necessary, it provides rhythm and harmonic accompaniment in the necessary low registers.) What's wrong with selling out? Kiss, for example, was accused of selling out in the mid-80s. But when you start a band to make money and get girls (what other reasons are there for a band?), it's kind of hard to not sell out, when in order to get money and girls, you have to stay current in an everchanging world. However, I would like to add that sometimes bands do change there sounds for the wrong reasons. I also like miniskirts, but not to excess, as in everyday. There's nothing wrong with short skirts. Which also pisses me off. Woman who want to be equal. Don't get me wrong, there no one who hates injustice and inequality more than me. What i'm talking about are the women who refuse to believe that there are physiological differences between men and women. The girls who want to play tackle football with boys, and don't want to be treated like girls. Then, they whine when its gets rough. I love women. They are fascinating beautiful creatures. I don't like it when I'm told I should feel bad for looking at some barely dressed pop-tart with lust in my heart. I also don't like those whiney liberals who complain about stuff that they shouldn't. You know the type. The white people who complain about some sitcom that carries stereotypes of minorities. Those white people who wanted to change the mascot of the Atlanta Braves (I think) because they felt it was offensive to Indians. By the way, all Indians I've met prefer that over Native American. Know who came up with the term Native American? White people. Know who runs the Bureau of Indian Affairs? A bunch of fat, old white men. I hate stupid people. I am an intellectual (i read at least a book a week) and damn proud of it. I find it hard to stomach being in the company of stupid people, and i don't like being told that i should feel bad for being smarter than them, when I am. No one is equal. And I don't want to live in a world where people are. However, as i stated before, I hate injustice and inequality. By that i mean racial stereotyping (and other types of injustice) and economic inequality. I am a socialist, communist, red pinko anti-american bastard, whatever term you prefer. I am willing to do whatever it takes to make my beliefs known. That concludes my rant for today. Yes, I know I am an opinionated asshole, but I am open-minded, and if you respect my beliefs, I'll respect yours. And I am perfectly capable of being friends with people who have different beliefs. Some of the most rewarding friendships I've ever had are with religious people who are politically opposite me. Written by: Fletcher Nemeth (4th floor Ondine) |
