Week Four
Well, the unthinkable has happened.  Ben & J.Lo have called it quits.  Like most of you, the PSU Preview staff is still reeling from this announcement.

How can it be?

This makes the Staff wonder,
what kind of parallel universe
have we entered?

What clearly should be, is no
longer what is.

With that being said, how will
this new
Bizarro Universe impact
College Football as we know it?

The Bennifer entity and everything that they represented, beauty, power, wealth, and fame reminds the Staff of another superpower the defending National Champion
Ohio State Buckeyes.

Like Ben & J.Lo, the Buckeyes have had their fair share of close calls. Bens bachelor party weekend with the strippers coincided with Ohio States squeak-by win over 32-point underdog
San Diego State, 16-13.

Its high time that the
Gods of Close Calls stop this nonsense.

Seriously, Ohio State has overcome danger more times than
Jack Bauers daughter on the Fox series 24. And similar to 24, this Ohio State drama continues to keep going and going and going. Isnt there a statute of limitations on the number of close calls that one team can survive?

The Buckeyes number is up.

Looking back at this short 2003 college football season, it is amazing at how many underdogs have spoiled the party. There were many that have gone down, but
Auburn, Texas, Wisconsin, Maryland, and NC State were the hardest to fall.

So, why should Ohio State be any different?

Bowling Green is averaging 50.7 points and 362 yards per game and have already upset a Top 25 team. Led by quarterback Josh Harris, the Falcons have scored 60 or more points in two of their first three games and are rushing for 213 a game. Defensively, the Falcons are allowing opponents an average of 14 points and 302 yards per game.

If the Falcons can maintain that type of production against one of college footballs toughest defenses, then the Buckeyes luck will run out faster than audiences filing out of a
Gigli screening.

The Ohio State offense is also banged up these days.  Buckeye quarterback
Craig Krenzel has been held out of practice after suffering a strained ulnar collateral ligament and a sprained flexor tendon in his right throwing elbow after the Buckeyes thrilling triple-overtime victory over
NC State, 44-38.

In what can be perceived as a bad omen,
USA Today reported earlier this week that a member of the 2002 National Champion Ohio State football team allegedly was attempting to sell a team keepsake from the season on eBay.  The bid was up to $1,000 when the item was pulled.  Ohio State Head Coach Jim Tressel said that its a slap in the face to the team.

One wonders if Ben had predicted their sour ending when he imagined J.Lo hawking her ridiculously rare 6.1 carat pink diamond engagement ring on eBay.
