Larry Crane will forever be known as the driving force and co-creator of what is now referred to as the “heartland rock” sound. Long time guitarist for John Mellencamp, Crane helped his fellow Seymour, Indiana native to carve out a substantial piece of American rock history. From the early years (1975), to the chart topping ’80s, he recorded, arranged, co-wrote, and toured with what Rolling Stone magazine called “the best rock band in the U.S. today…” During that time, Larry earned his elite sideman status by working with such artists as Steve Earle, Rosanne Cash, Bonnie Raitt, Lou Reed, John Prine, William Golden, John Fogerty, and legendary producer Bob Johnston, among others.
